Cincinnati Bengals

Ja'Marr Chase not close to return
Hip injury; remains on crutches
By: Doug Orth | Nov 14 2022, 7:35 pm

FWIW, Ja'Marr Chase is still walking with crutches. Will try and get an update from Zac Taylor on a potential timeline for his return today. (Kelsey Conway on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Conway noted a few hours after this tweet that HC Zac Taylor did not offer an update on Chase's timeline. However, the fact he is still on crutches suggests he is going to miss at least two more games. Fantasy managers should expect Tee Higgins to continue to serve as a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 for as long as Chase is sidelined. Tyler Boyd should also serve as a solid low-end WR2/high-end WR3.

Denver Broncos

Jerry Jeudy working through ankle sprain
Left early in Week 10 and did not return
By: Doug Orth | Nov 14 2022, 7:30 pm

From NFL Now: Following his MRI, Broncos get good news on WR Jerry Jeudy. It's a mild ankle injury, sources say. His status for this week has not yet been determined, but they received promising results. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)

FFToday's Take: There was some initial concern about an Achilles injury with Jeudy, so this is actually a positive report. Jeudy should be considered doubtful at best for Week 11 for now, but it appears as if we will see him on the field again soon. Assuming Jeudy has to sit a week or two, Courtland Sutton and Greg Dulcich should be strong starts against a Las Vegas defense that has not been particularly good against the pass this year.

Arizona Cardinals

Zach Ertz likely done for the year
Knee injury
By: Doug Orth | Nov 14 2022, 7:25 pm

Sources: #AZCardinals TE Zach Ertz has suffered a season-ending knee injury. A brutal reality for Arizona and its veteran. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)

FFToday's Take: After Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews, Ertz was operating as the overall TE3 in fantasy for most of the season. Ertz's absence opens the door for Trey McBride to step into his role, although the rookie will be hard-pressed to be even a low-end TE1 despite his obvious talent. It is much more likely Ertz's targets will be redistributed to DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore in the short term - at least until Marquise Brown is able to return.

San Francisco

CMC, Elijah Mitchell sharing the load?
HC reacts to Mitchell getting more carries in Week 10
By: Doug Orth | Nov 14 2022, 7:20 pm

Head coach Kyle Shanahan reacted to a question about the 49ers' decision to give 18 carries to Elijah Mitchell in his first game from IR versus only 14 for Christian McCaffrey in Week 10 against the Chargers. "We were hoping the carries would come out about even. That was kind of our goal before the game started. … You just never know how the game goes. Then at the end there, we were just trying to hammer it down, we were just feeling (Mitchell), so we kept him out there," Shanahan said. (49ers.com)

FFToday's Take: There seems to be a lot of panic about how involved Mitchell was Sunday night, but some context is needed here. McCaffrey handled 11 of the first 16 carries by San Francisco running backs and was plenty involved as a receiver (six targets, four catches) throughout. Fantasy managers should actually be thrilled Shanahan doesn't want to run CMC into the ground and is willing to give Mitchell more of the four-minute work. Assuming Shanahan sticks to this kind of script, CMC will remain a top-three fantasy back and Mitchell has some appeal as a strong flex option in any game the 49ers are expected to win.

Carolina Panthers

Baker Mayfield gets the start in Week 11
P.J. Walker dealing with high-ankle sprain
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 14 2022, 10:16 am

With P.J. Walker dealing with a high ankle sprain, Panthers’ HC Steve Wilks told reporters that Baker Mayfield will start Sunday vs. Baltimore. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Sam Darnold will be the backup. All three of the Carolina QBs have had high ankle sprains this season. Mayfield isn't a real fantasy option in most redraft leagues. The real question is how does this affect D.J. Moore? This offense struggled mightily with Baker at QB during the first five weeks. Temper your expectations for Moore moving forward.

Arizona Cardinals

Zach Ertz expected to be out multiple weeks
Knee injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 13 2022, 9:35 pm

Cardinals TE Zach Ertz, spotted in a brace after Arizona’s win, is expected to miss multiple weeks with the knee injury he suffered today, per source. The team does suspect that his ACL is intact, however. But Ertz will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine full extent of injury. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ertz was carted off in Week 10 against the Rams but hopefully his knee injury isn't a season-ender. Trey McBride and Stephen Anderson are next up on the depth chart but we could see more WR usage while Ertz is out. Paging Robbie Anderson?

Los Angeles Rams

Cooper Kupp leaves Week 10 with ankle injury
Appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 13 2022, 8:20 pm

Multiple sources said that after initial testing on Cooper Kupp's ankle, he appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario with the injury. Important to remember, though, that he'll go through more testing in the coming days for a clearer picture of the situation. @TheAthletic (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Kupp finished with 5 targets, 3 receptions and -1 yard against the Cardinals. Hopefully tests on Monday remain positive. We should know more about his injury on how much time he will miss by Tuesday at the latest. Allen Robinson, Van Jefferson and Ben Skowronek are next up on the depth chart.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen expected to be active in Week 10
Will he start?
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 13 2022, 7:10 am

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will be active Sunday despite his ulnar collateral ligament injury and the belief is he will start against the Minnesota Vikings, sources told ESPN on Saturday. Bills officials, however, have been tight-lipped all week and have declined to reveal who is starting and want to keep it secret until after Sunday's NFL actives/inactives list is released at 11:30 a.m. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Bills have been keeping this decision close to the vest all week. It's telling that they did not call up a quarterback from the practice squad leaving Allen and Case Keenum as the only two quarterbacks on the gameday roster. It sounds like Allen is going to play and if he's on the field, he should be in your lineup.

Arizona Cardinals

Colt McCoy and John Wolford to start for Cardinals and Rams?
Both backup QBs could start in Week 10
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 13 2022, 7:00 am

Colt McCoy and John Wolford very well could end up squaring off Sunday in a battle of backup QBs thrust into starting roles. But before that becomes official, the Cardinals and Rams would like to give their starters a final chance to see if they can play. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Another late-afternoon game with injury concerns. Both Kyler Murray (hamstring) and Matthew Stafford (concussion) are gametime decisions that are probably on the wrong side of questionable. Stafford wasn't placed in the concussion protocol until Tuesday making it difficult for him to get cleared in time for today's game.

Dallas Cowboys

Ezekiel Elliott is a gametime decision
Knee injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 12 2022, 8:00 pm

#Cowboys do not expect to finalize a decision on RB Ezekiel Elliott’s status against the #Packers until evaluating him pregame, per source. Expect a conservative decision. Elliott has knee injury. He has never missed consecutive games but he’s mentioned long-term considerations. (Ed Werder on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like there's a good chance that Zeke sits today which would make Tony Pollard the start at running back. The last time this happened Pollard only played 53% of the snaps but turned in a 14-131-3 line on the ground against the Bears. He'll be a low-end RB1 option against Green Bay if Zeke doesn't play. Qadree Ollison has been called up from the practice squad.

Tennessee Titans

Ryan Tannehill expected to play Week 10
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 12 2022, 4:15 pm

The #Titans are expected to get QB Ryan Tannehill back after missing two games with an ankle injury, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Tannehill is listed as questionable but being able to practice fully on Thursday proved to be a good sign. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This should give a modest boost to the Titans passing game and the offense overall although, it's reasonable to wonder how mobile Tannehill will be playing with a high ankle sprain. Rookie Treylon Burks (foot) is expected to play as well.

Kansas City Chiefs

Mecole Hardman Out, Jerick McKinnon Questionable
Hardman missed practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 11 2022, 3:16 pm

The final injury report of the week is now out and the Chiefs have listed Mecole Hardman as out for Sunday's game against Jaguars. Jerick McKinnon is questionable with shoulder and knee injuries. (Adam Teicher on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Harman missed practice all week with an abdomen injury while McKinnon was added to the injury report Friday with a hamstring issue. If McKinnon gets ruled out Sunday, running back snaps will be split between Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Isiah Pacheco. Expect Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore to pickup the slack for Hardman but neither are going to be trustworthy in your lineup.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen limited Friday, listed as Questionable
Elbow issue
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 11 2022, 3:01 pm

Josh Allen was limited on Friday, and did not have the same sleeve after practice as we saw on Wednesday and Thursday. The questionable tag will keep everyone, Vikings included, guessing until the 11:30am inactives come out. (Joe Buscaglia on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Bills and Vikings play early Sunday so we'll have a good read on Allen's status likely late Saturday night or Sunday morning. If Allen doesn't go, Case Keenum would get the start. The Vikings have given up the 9th most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford limited Friday, Questionable
Rams QB in concussion protocol
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 11 2022, 2:30 pm

Rams’ HC Sean McVay told reporters today that Matthew Stafford is questionable for Sunday vs. the Cardinals, but his QB is “making good progress.” (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Stafford was limited on Friday after being into the concussion protocol this week. Given the nature of the protocol, it's going to be difficult for him to get cleared in time, meaning it's likely we see John Wolford get the start at quarterback. But, we likely won't know for sure until Sunday.

Indianapolis Colts

Deon Jackson out for Week 10
Knee injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 11 2022, 1:17 pm

#colts have ruled OUT RB Deon Jackson, LB Shaquille Leonard, and TE Jelani Woods. (James Palmer on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jackson has seen playing time last week while Jonathan Taylor was on the sidelines due to an ankle injury. The Colts will roll with Taylor, Jordan Wilkins and Zack Moss at running back this week. Phillip Lindsay has been released and Jake Funk has been added to the practice squad.

Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller headed to IR, hamstring injury
Eligible to play in Week 14
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 10 2022, 1:04 pm

#raiders are placing Darren Waller on IR per source. The hamstring is going to need some time to get fully healthy. The 4 weeks hopefully will do that. (James Palmer on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Waller last played in Week 5 and has scored just one touchdown on the season. He'll be eligible to play in Week 14 against the Rams. Until then Foster Moreau will takeover the starting tight end duties for the Raiders. He played at least 96% of the snaps the last three games while Waller has been out making him a viable weekly tight end play.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen expected to be limited this week
Sprained right elbow
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 9 2022, 7:10 am

From @GMFB: #Bills QB Josh Allen is dealing with a sprained right elbow, sources say, a UCL injury that will limit him this week. While it’s no sure thing that Allen plays vs the #Vikings, belief is it’s an injury he can manage moving forward. How he responds this week is key. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like he'll be labeled as a gametime decision but this is a situation we'll be monitoring closely throughout the week. Case Keenum would get the start if Allen is unable to go.

Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys optimistic Zeke plays in Week 10
Suffered knee injury in Week 7
By: Doug Orth | Nov 8 2022, 10:05 pm

Will RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) play this week in Cowboys-Packers? Jerry Jones to @1053thefan: "It's anticipated he'll be ready to go." (Yahoo! Sports - Jori Epstein)

FFToday's Take: Elliott sat out Week 8 due to this knee injury, only to watch Tony Pollard make his case to be the starter with three TD runs on 14 carries in Week 9. Jones threw his support behind Elliott shortly thereafter, noting that he helps soften up the defense for Pollard to create big plays. Elliott is obviously not a lock to play yet, but a full practice at some point this week would likely be enough to trust him as a decent RB2 option against a middling Green Bay run defense.

Detroit Lions

Jameson Williams unlikely to play before December
Suffered torn ACL in January
By: Doug Orth | Nov 8 2022, 10:00 pm

Don't hold your breath on the return of Jameson Williams. While the Lions remain hopeful the 12th overall pick will play this season, HC Dan Campbell said Tuesday that Williams is at least another month away from his debut. "I think we’re looking at December. If I’m trying to forecast here a little bit, I’m hoping sometime in December we get him," Campbell said on the Stoney & Jansen Show. "When he can go, I think it would be good for him to go. He needs some in-game experience, even if it’s only for a couple of games, two or three games. I think those are critical to get under his belt before next year if you can do it." (97.1 FM - Will Burchfield)

FFToday's Take: Williams possesses a ton of upside, but managers also have to be realistic about the possibility he might not be ready to contribute in a meaningful fashion until next season. Redraft managers can probably feel free to move on from him if their IR slot(s) is/are full but are encouraged to continue holding if they have the room to do so. Amon-Ra St. Brown figures to remain a target hog in the meantime.

Baltimore Ravens

Gus Edwards set to return in Week 11
Ravens on bye in Week 10
By: Doug Orth | Nov 8 2022, 9:40 pm

"(Gus Edwards) will be back (in Week 11), that's the plan," HC John Harbaugh said at his presser Tuesday, Nov. 8. (Ravens.com)

FFToday's Take: With the Ravens playing the early game in Week 8, getting no work in practice ahead in Week 9 and the team going on a bye in Week 10, Edwards should have ample time to get his hamstring right. Baltimore does not face another team with a winning record right now until Week 18. It means if Edwards returns to his Week 8 role as the early-down grinder, he should have plenty of positive game script the rest of the way. Edwards should be capable of low-end RB2/high-end flex value moving forward.

Cleveland Browns

David Njoku confident he will play in Week 10
Suffered high-ankle sprain in Week 7
By: Doug Orth | Nov 7 2022, 6:20 pm

#Browns David Njoku (high ankle sprain) said of playing Sunday in Miami "that's the plan." (Mary Kay Cabot on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Njoku's high-ankle sprain was reportedly not serious. It would appear he believes as much. With that said, high-ankle sprains tend to linger and bother an athlete all season long if they aren't given proper time to heal. In other words, Njoku is pushing the most optimistic time here. Perhaps he did suffer the most minor of high-ankle sprains and will end up being the exception, but expectations need to be down back until we see proof.

Detroit Lions

D'Andre Swift's workload about to expand?
No setbacks with ankle, shoulder injuries in Week 9
By: Doug Orth | Nov 7 2022, 6:10 pm

Lions coach Dan Campbell says there wasn't any setbacks with RB D'Andre Swift yesterday. "We're hopeful we can give him a little bit more this week," Campbell said. (ESPN - Eric Woodyard)

FFToday's Take: Campbell hinted at a decreased workload for Swift in Week 9 (five touches) after the latter was given 10 touches in Week 8. There is no word yet if "a little bit more" means, but a good guess is something his workload in Week 8. The best part of this report is Swift did not have a setback, which means he could be ready to handle 12-15 touches in a week or two. He needs to be in lineups regardless.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen awaiting news on elbow injury
Possible but likely minor UCL injury
By: Doug Orth | Nov 7 2022, 6:00 pm

Bills QB Josh Allen is being evaluated for an elbow injury to his ulnar collateral ligament and related nerves, per source. Bills HC Sean McDermott said earlier team hopes to have more info Tuesday. (ESPN - Chris Mortenson)

FFToday's Take: ESPN injury analyst Stephania Bell appears to second the diagnosis here. Allen suffered the injury late but still uncorked a deep throw that traveled about 70 yards in the air minutes later. It appears Allen dodged a major injury here, but we will have to wait for the Bills to update us, which will likely happen sometime Tuesday afternoon. Case Keenum would get the nod if he needs to miss time and would be a middling QB2 option.

Indianapolis Colts

Colts part ways with HC Frank Reich
Mid-way through fifth season
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 7 2022, 11:38 am

We have parted ways with head coach Frank Reich. (Jim Irsay on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: As pointed out by beat writer Zak Keefer, the Colts have started the last five seasons with a fresh quarterback. Not ideal if you're trying to sustain chemistry. Matt Ryan was benched a couple weeks ago, offensive coordinator Marcus Brady was fired last week. They scored 3 points against the Patriots in Week 9. The Colts are last in scoring and 30th in yards per play.

Green Bay Packers

Ankle for Aaron Jones checks out OK, should play in Wk10
Tests came back negative
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 7 2022, 10:07 am

Tests on Packers’ RB Aaron Jones’ ankle today came back negative and, according to a source, “(Jones) should be able to play this week.” (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Leaving early with an ankle injury, Jones saw only 11 touches in Green Bay's disaster against the Lions in Week 9. In his place, AJ Dillon took on a 66 percent snap share with Kylin Hill making a brief appearance. It sounds like Jones will be on the field in Week 10 against the Cowboys.

Arizona Cardinals

James Conner likely to play, test during pre-game warmups
Rib injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 6 2022, 7:15 am

Cardinals’ RB James Conner, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a rib injury, is likely to play vs. the Seahawks, but Arizona does want to test him in pre-game warmups, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Conner last played in Week 5 against the Eagles. If he doesn't play today against Seattle, it will be Eno Benjamin getting the bulk of the work. Given Arizona doesn't play until the late-afternoon window, it's going to be difficult for fantasy owners to trust Conner in their lineups if he's active.

Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller unlikely to play in Week 9
limited in practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 6 2022, 7:10 am

Raiders’ TE Darren Waller, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a hamstring injury, still is not fully healthy and is unlikely to play vs. the Jaguars, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This is now the second-straight week that Waller has been limited during practice but failed to play in the game with his hamstring injury. In his place, Foster Moreau played 100% of the snaps last week against the Saints. That kind of usage makes Moreau a very viable streamer in every league.

New England Patriots

Damien Harris unlikely to play in Week 9
Missed practice all week with illness
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 6 2022, 7:00 am

Patriots’ RB Damien Harris, listed as questionable for Sunday due to an illness, is unlikely to play vs. the Colts, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Players rarely miss games due to illness, but Harris has been out of practice all week and isn't likely to play. We should see a lot of Rhamondre Stevenson as a result making him a solid low-end RB1 against the Colts.

Baltimore Ravens

Mark Andrews, Gus Edwards listed as Doubtful
Demarcus Robinson questionable
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 5 2022, 3:50 pm

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring) and TE Mark Andrews (knee/shoulder) both doubtful for MNF against Saints. With Rashod Bateman (foot) out and headed to IR, Ravens going to have to beat Saints without Edwards, Bateman and Andrews. WR Demarcus Robinson (groin) questionable, too. (Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Ravens will be struggling for skill position players on Monday night against the Saints. Rashod Bateman (foot) will be out as well leaving Devin Duvernay, James Proche and Isaiah Likely the favorites for pass catching duties. DeSean Jackson is expected to be called up from the practice squad. Likely becomes a viable streaming option at tight end.

Atlanta Falcons

Falcons activate Cordarrelle Patterson off IR
Expected to play in Week 9
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 5 2022, 2:15 pm

The #Falcons are activating RB Cordarrelle Patterson off IR today, sources say. He’ll be back in action tomorrow vs. the #Chargers after practicing all week. (Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The only team that runs the ball more than Atlanta is Chicago. Usage will be a concern as both Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley are expected to remain involved in the offense making Patterson a risky Flex play in Week 9 against the Chargers.

Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller listed as Questionable
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 4 2022, 2:33 pm

#Raiders TE Darren Waller (hamstring) and LB Divine Deablo (back, wrist) are questionable for Sunday. McDaniels on Waller: "He's working extremely hard to try to get back as soon as he can. I know that, and nobody wants to play quicker than Darren does." (Vic Tafur on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Just like last week, Waller was limited in practice all week and then slapped with Questionable tag. It sounds like another gametime decision which we should get word on late Saturday night, early Sunday morning. Foster Moreau would be a viable streamer if Waller sits.

Tennessee Titans

Ryan Tannehill limited Friday, gametime decision
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 4 2022, 2:06 pm

No decision on Ryan Tannehill's status from Mike Vrabel. It remains day by day. They'll have a walk thru tomorrow before heading to Kansas City. (Turron Davenport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Tannehill missed Week 8 with a sprained ankle and his status will likely come down to a game time decision. The Chiefs and Titans play Sunday night, so unless we get some news on Sunday morning, fantasy owners will need to look elsewhere for their QB2 in two-quarterback leagues. Malik Willis would start if Tannehill can't go.

Indianapolis Colts

Jonathan Taylor Out for Week 9
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 4 2022, 1:14 pm

#Colts coach Frank Reich says RB Jonathan Taylor is out for Sunday's game. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Taylor re-aggravated his ankle injury and will not play against the Patriots. Deon Jackson is expected to get the start with Phillip Lindsay, Jordan Wilkins and perhaps newly acquired Zack Moss filling backup roles. Jackson had 10 receptions back in Week 6 with Matt Ryan at the helm and the Patriots have given up the fewest fantasy points to running backs.

Carolina Panthers

Panthers rule out RB Chuba Hubbard for Week 9
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 4 2022, 11:56 am

The #Panthers have ruled RB Chuba Hubbard out for Sunday. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Hubbard also missed Week 8 with an ankle injury. In his absence, expect D'Onta Foreman to be the main ball carrier for the Panthers against the Bengals. Spencer Brown and Raheem Blackshear could also see limited action. Foreman is an easy RB2 with RB1 upside.

New Orleans

Michael Thomas headed to IR, surgery on toe
Not expected to play again in 2022
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 3 2022, 3:38 pm

Saints will place WR Michael Thomas on injured reserve and he will have surgery on his toe, according to coach Dennis Allen, who said he doesn’t know the exact timetable but doesn’t anticipate that Thomas will return this year. Was a dislocated second toe. (Mike Triplett on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It's another lost season for Michael Thomas who has battled injuries much of the last three years, playing in only 10 games. Chris Olave is the number one receiving option for the Saints moving forward while Jarvis Landry works to come back from an ankle injury that's caused him to miss the last four weeks.

Baltimore Ravens

Rashod Bateman will have surgery, out for the year
Lisfranc injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 3 2022, 3:31 pm

Coach Harbaugh announces Rashod Bateman will have surgery. (Baltimore Ravens on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Bateman is going to miss the rest of the season after aggravating his Lisfranc injury. Bateman managed to play in six games this year after playing in 12 games his rookie season. DeSean Jackson is expected to be called up from the practice squad and play Monday night against the Saints. Devin Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson will will be the main outside receivers for Lamar Jackson.

Los Angeles Chargers

Keenan Allen still battling hamstring issue
Got worse during the bye week
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 2 2022, 3:55 pm

Keenan Allen says his hamstring got worse during the bye week when training. He says next time he goes in a game it won’t be on a snap count, that it will be all or nothing, with his hamstring absolutely ready to go. He said he felt great going into Week 7, but not 100%. (Lindsey Thiry on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Allen injured his hamstring in Week 1 and still can't get over the injury. The Chargers wide receiver missed practice on Wednesday and it looks like he's going to miss Week 9. Already down Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer, DeAndre Carter, Michael Bandy and Jason Moore and next up on the depth chart.

Houston Texans

Brandin Cooks misses practice Wednesday
Unhappy
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 2 2022, 3:46 pm

Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks didn't practice again Wednesday for personal reasons, per league sources, one day after trade deadline expired with no deal reached. He expressed displeasure on social media Tuesday after no trade due to his contract-Texans' trade demands. (Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Unhappy players demanding trades and taking to social media to express their displeasure is commonplace these days. The Texans will at least be without Nico Collins due to a groin injury and may have Cooks out as well. We'll see.

Miami Dolphins

Dolphins acquire Jeff Wilson
Ship out Chase Edmonds to Denver in another deadline deal
By: Doug Orth | Nov 1 2022, 6:00 pm

Compensation update: 49ers are trading RB Jeff Wilson to the Dolphins for a 2023 5th-round pick, per source. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)

FFToday's Take: With Miami trading Chase Edmonds to the Broncos in the Bradley Chubb deal earlier in the afternoon, Wilson slots in as the primary backup to injury-prone Raheem Mostert. It also gives Miami a physical runner that should have no problem contributing immediately since HC Mike McDaniel was the 49ers' offensive coordinator last season. Wilson isn't exactly a must-own handcuff, but this trade and Mostert's injury history suggest that he will see some starts later in the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Calvin Ridley shipped to Jacksonville
Suspended Falcons WR dealt for two picks
By: Doug Orth | Nov 1 2022, 5:25 pm

The Jags have acquired suspended WR Calvin Ridley from the Atlanta Falcons, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday, per sources informed of the situation. The Falcons' trade return is two future draft picks that can range from a maximum compensation of a 2023 fifth-rounder and a 2024 second-round pick, which will be conditional upon Ridley's reinstatement. Should Ridley be reinstated past a certain date, the 2023 fifth-round pick will turn into a sixth-rounder, per Rapoport. If Ridley makes the team in 2024, the second pick will be worth at least a fourth-rounder. A playing-time milestone converts the pick into a third-rounder and the Jaguars will give up a 2024 second-round pick if the team strikes a long-term deal with Ridley. (Around the NFL - Kevin Patra)

FFToday's Take: In theory, this is great news for the fantasy values of Ridley, Kyle Pitts and Drake London. From Jacksonville's perspective, Ridley should give Trevor Lawrence a proven alpha receiver. He should be in far better fantasy situation with Lawrence than with whatever quarterback is running the show in Atlanta in 2023. As for the Falcons, Ridley's departure likely means that Pitts and London won't have another supremely talented pass-catcher stealing targets from them moving forward.
