Murray on the way out in Philly?
Eagles, RB "not in a good place"
By: Doug Orth | Feb 4 2016, 6:50 pm

A coaching change hasn't improved the situation for Eagles RB DeMarco Murray. Even with Chip Kelly being sent packing and the hire of coach Doug Pederson, the former NFL rushing leader and his team are not in a good place. In fact, Eagles and Murray appear headed toward a stare-down regarding his future with the organization, according to several sources informed of the situation. The division boils down to: Murray's unsuccessful 2015 campaign during which he rushed for only 702 yards, the Eagles' lack of conviction that he's the right back and the massive contract Murray signed last offseason. FFToday's Take: A trade is probably out of the question for Murray, who signed a five-year, $40 million deal last offseason. Also working against Murray is his age (he'll turn 28 in mid-February and injury history. Furthermore, Ryan Mathews is a more-than-capable back when healthy and about half as expensive as the ex-Cowboy. If Murray is still on the Eagles' roster next season, he will likely be sharing carries with Murray and should be considered no more than a low-end RB2.
