Sharpe, Matthews lead Titans WR battle
Green-Beckham considered "wild-card" of the group
By: Doug Orth | Jul 14 2016, 10:00 pm

Rookie Tajae Sharpe has been the talk of camp. The other starting receiver thus far has been free agent import Rishard Matthews, who is cut from the same cloth as Sharpe, in that route-running and good hands are his trademarks as well. The Titans have told Kendall Wright that he must be more precise in his routes, and his role now looks to be as a slot receiver. The wild-card in the receiver corps is second-year pro Dorial Green-Beckham. HC Mike Mularkey has emphasized that DGB must become more of a student of the game and get himself in top shape. (Titans Insider)

FFToday's Take: DGB owners shouldn't give up hope quite yet as the coaches would lose credibility if they name him the starter before he "proves it" in camp, but this is another reminder he is still very much an unfinished product and a risky fantasy bet. Matthews has as good of a chance as anybody to lead this group in receptions, although TE Delanie Walker should be considered the top passing-game target. Consider Matthews a WR4 and just about any other Titans' wideout a WR5 or beyond.
