Adrian Peterson says he's signing with Saints
One-year deal, plus one-year option
By: Mike Krueger | Apr 25 2017, 8:15 am

Adrian Peterson told ESPN's Josina Anderson Tuesday morning that he plans to sign with the New Orleans Saints on a two-year deal that is effectively a one-year deal plus a one-year option. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: $3.5 million is guaranteed for 2017. With Tim Hightower now is San Francisco, New Orleans needed to add some depth behind Mark Ingram. Peterson is not expected to take over Ingram's role but simply complement him. At age 31, Peterson played in only three games in 2016 averaging 1.9 yards per carry. However, Ingram injury history does give Peterson some upside if he can flash his old form. He'll be a mid-round selection in redraft leagues this summer.
