Eifert to have back surgery, out for the year Third surgical procedure on his back in his career By: Mike Krueger | Oct 11 2017, 7:00 pm
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert has opted to have season-ending surgery on his back, a league source said.
Eifert made the decision after consulting with Dr. Robert Watkins on Wednesday in Los Angeles. He is scheduled to undergo micro disk surgery Thursday and is expected to be out four to six months, the source said. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take:Eifert's injury-prone label won't go away. He will have played in only 10 games during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Eifert is in the final year of his contract with the Bengals, meaning it's likely the Bengals will move on from the talented tight end. Tyler Kroft will continue fill the starters role.
