Jaguars release WR Allen Hurns
$7 million saved against salary cap
By: Mike Krueger | Mar 20 2018, 11:00 am

The Jacksonville Jaguars will release wide receiver Allen Hurns on Tuesday, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move will save the team $7 million against the salary cap. Hurns became expendable with the emergence of rookies Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole in 2017. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Hurns originally signed a four-year, $41M deal back in 2016 which after his release turned out to be two-year, $16 million deal. Yet another reason why reports of average dollars per year mean absolutely nothing. Hurns has missed 11 games the last two seasons but should be able find a home relatively soon. The Jags will move forward with Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, Keelan Cole and Donte Moncrief at wide receiver.
