Wayne Gallman inside track to spell Barkley
Giants RB position group
By: Mike Krueger | Jul 10 2018, 11:55 am

New York Giants
Entering his second NFL season, Wayne Gallman has the inside track for the job as a change of pace complement to Barkley, who will rarely come off the field. Gallman has some burst and elusiveness in the open-field, but it is his ability to make plays as a receiver that will give him the leg-up on spelling Barkley over the likes of Jonathan Stewart and Robert Martin. (NJ.com)

FFToday's Take: NJ.com writer Matt Lombardo went on to say that "Stewart looked more like a plodding veteran running back trying to hang on, than a back capable of shouldering a significant workload." The Giants signed Stewart this off-season to a two-year deal ($3.45 million guaranteed). Barkley is expected to see the majority of snaps in this offense, including 3rd downs, but if you're attempting a dart throw late in your draft at a Giants RB, you might consider Gallman over Stewart.
