Four-year contract, $7 million guaranteed
Free-agent running back Michael Bush agreed to a four-year contract with the Chicago Bears which could pay him $14 million, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday. Matt Forte is Chicago's franchise player and wants a new contract. He has not signed his franchise tender and Bush provides insurance in case he Forte decides to wait for a new contract. FF Today's Take: Bush provides insurance in case Forte's contract talks hit a snag and also gives the Bears solid depth in the backfield. Forte will remain the focus of the Bears offense but he could lose short-yardage and goaline work to the bigger Bush.
