Injury RG3 suffers "sprained" knee     -- Sun Dec 9 8:30 pm --

Status unclear for Week 15 vs. Cleveland
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III already has had an MRI on a right knee that he injured during Sunday’s win over the Ravens. Per multiple reports, a Redskins spokesman has said that the MRI showed no significant damage, and specifically no torn ACL. The injury is being characterized as a sprain, which can mean a wide range of injuries to one or more ligaments. (Pro Football Talk)

FF Today's Take: The injury had potential to be much worse than a sprain, so it appears the rookie sensation got lucky. Kirk Cousins, like he did earlier in the season, came on in relief after Griffin made a brief reappearance. While the fact he returnd would seem like good news, he was clearly hobbled. As PFT suggests, his sprain could involve one or more ligaments. Knee sprains can sideline players 2-4 weeks, so there is a chance RG3 will miss the rest of the regular season.
