Injury Cutler leaves early in Week 14     -- Sun Dec 9 8:55 pm --

Whiplash-action caused neck injury
A few weeks after sitting out with a concussion, quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter of the Bears' 21-14 loss against the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome on Sunday. Cutler was injured when he was hit in the head by Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen. Cutler was being pulled to the ground when Griffen struck him directly in the head, bending his neck violently backward. (Chicago Sun-Times)

FF Today's Take: Cutler - who finished 22-for-44 for 260 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions - got up slowly after the hit and was looked at by Bears staff, but finished the drive. In a postgame interview, he complained that "everything was stiff" and that his neck was starting to spasm on the field. Jason Campbell came on in relief and was actually efficient, going 6-of-9 for 65 yards and a score. The Bears face the Packers in Week 15.
