Wes Welker cleared to travel
Not cleared for contact
By: Jake Gordon | Aug 27 2014, 4:00 pm

ARLINGTON, Texas — Wes Welker was cleared to fly with the Broncos for their final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. Welker has not yet been medically cleared from his concussion to engage in contact, so he won't play in the game Thursday night at AT&T Stadium. (Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: Wes Welker (concussion) is making progress but it is too soon to know if he will be available for the team's opening game. He has reached the exercise stage of recovery but he must be cleared for contact by late next week to have a chance at playing week one. Additionally, the team has insisted that Welker will return when he is fully healthy and may elect to be cautious with the veteran receiver. Not knowing if Welker will play or how many snaps he would see should have his owners seeking out a backup plan for the start of the fantasy season.
