	QB Derek Carr will start for Raiders Week 1 Veteran Matt Schaub passed over for rookie By: Mike Krueger \| Sep 1 2014, 5:20 pm
Raiders players have been told that Derek Carr will be the starting quarterback over Matt Schaub, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports tweeted Monday. Schaub missed three days of practice leading up to the preseason finale against Seattle. Carr completed 11 of 13 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns as the Raiders had touchdowns in all four of his possessions. Schaub was away from the facility Friday because of a "personal issue." (Inside Bar Area) FFToday's Take: Schaub has been dealing with elbow tendinitis and coach Allen had indicated that he wanted to wait to evaluate Schaub today before making any decision on the starting quarterback job. Carr's hype is a little out of control and regardless of how the rookie looked in the final preseason game, he won't be a recommended fantasy option against the Jets in Week 1.
