Charles diagnosed with high ankle sprain
No timetable for return
By: Doug Orth | Sep 15 2014, 3:45 pm

Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles suffered a high ankle sprain, and S Eric Berry sprained an ankle in Sunday’s loss at Denver, HC Andy Reid said Monday. Reid provided no timetable for their returns. A high ankle sprain can often result in a multi-week injury, but Reid says Charles’ injury “doesn’t look to be a real severe one.” “It does have the component of a high ankle sprain. What does that mean? We’ll see,” Reid said. (Kansas City Star)

FFToday's Take: Fantasy owners know this drill pretty well by now. High-ankle sprains are often multi-week injuries and Charles would be doing himself and his team a disservice by trying to rush back. Knile Davis will step and replace him as the featured back in his absence. The second-year back should be considered a low-end RB1 in all leagues while Charles is out.
