Andre Johnson given permission to seek trade
Reduced role doesn't sit well with AJ
By: Mike Krueger | Mar 2 2015, 6:24 pm

Texans gave Andre Johnson permission to seek a trade. Told him he'd have a reduced role next season. He asked to be traded or cut instead. (John McClain on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: As I wrote in my Early WR Rankings article the torch was passed to DeAndre Hopkins last season and now it appears the Texans are making it official. Johnson will be 34 in July and his contract over the next two years makes it highly unlikely the Texans can find a trade partner. If released, Johnson will certainly have a market for his services. Playoff caliber teams (NE, BAL, SEA) in need of a veteran receiver would give him an opportunity.
