Peterson drawing high praise from coaching staff
Head coach Zimmer: "He's in fantastic shape"
By: John Canario | Jul 31 2015, 4:30 pm

Adrian Peterson is as good as ever after a year away. “He’s in fantastic shape. His body is rock hard. He’s really into all the football stuff, he’s got a smile on his face, he seems to be extremely happy and excited to be here. Every day you see a couple cuts that look like a Hall of Fame running back, so those are good sights to see,” Zimmer said. The Vikings have become a trendy pick to be a playoff team, with Peterson returning, Teddy Bridgewater improving in his second season and Zimmer getting another year to build his defense. FFToday's Take: There's been no shortage of positive sentiment voiced about AP's ability this offseason. But when he ties up his cleats on September 13th for the Vikings opening game, he will have played just one regular season game in the past 20 months. There is no doubting Peterson's superhuman ability but at 30 years old and after a year away from football, there are less risky running back options available if you don't feel like rolling the dice.
