Here are the cumulative results of the
voting that took place at the FF Today board August 13th -15th.
234 lists were compiled to formulate this year's Consensus
Rankings. The FF
Today Board members were asked to rank their top 30 WRs.
The rankings are calculated using traditional polling measures
so that a consensus can be reached. A big thank you to Kirk
Hollis for his help on this feature.
Analysis:
Six solid WRs to start the rankings with all six regarded
as being legitimate #1 guys. After those six, there are plenty
of solid choice down through #17 with Plaxico
Burress. There is a significant drop in value after Burress
and and then again after Hines Ward & Deion Branch. Calvin
Johnson comes in at #27- pretty high for a rookie wideout.
The last drop-off in terms of value occurs after Vincent
Jackson. Once about 35 receivers are off the board, the
voting would indicate that it's pretty much a crapshoot. Still,
if your league only starts 2 receivers each week, value should
abound. If you start three, it will be helpful to understand
the tiers that do exist.
