|Letís sum up Morenoís 2011 season: he lost his job to veteran retread Willis McGahee, he tore his ACL in Week 10 and then he was busted for DUI. After three seasons in the league, Moreno has done little to warrant having been taken with the 12th pick in the 2009 draft and his current situation indicates that he is unlikely to get an opportunity to change that assessment in 2012. Moreno will enter training camp in a battle to retain a roster spot, not fighting for a starting position or even significant playing time. Willis McGahee seems entrenched as the teamís starter and rookie 3rd round pick Ronnie Hillman will likely assume a pass catching role, leaving Moreno fighting with Lance Ball for scraps. Moreno has no fantasy value in Denver but a preseason trade is a possibility and Moreno was productive enough in 2009 and 2010 to suggest that he could be a solid fantasy option with a new team.
| Knowshon Moreno out for the year, ACL injury -- Tue Oct 14 8:44 am --|
Dolphins RB placed on IR
|Knowshon Morenoís first year with the Dolphins is over after just three games.
The Dolphins announced Tuesday that Moreno has suffered an ACL injury. As a result, they placed him on injured reserve. (Miami Herald)|
FF Today's Take: This explains why Moreno only got 1 carry after halftime in Week 6. Lamar Miller will no flirt with RB1 territory and should be the lead back in Miami moving forward. Moreno will be a free agent next season.
| Moreno to return in Week 6? -- Mon Oct 6 5:25 pm --|
Practicing on limited basis Monday
|Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno, out the past three weeks with an elbow injury, is practicing today at least on a limited basis. He hopes to play on Sunday against Green Bay although no final determination has been made on that front. (Miami Herald)|
FF Today's Take: Reports on Moreno's return have been all over the map in the last two weeks, with one suggesting he may be sidelined until about Week 10 last week. Moreno should return to split carries with Lamar Miller when he does make it back to the field, although Miller did show well in the Dolphins' pre-bye win over Oakland. Whenever he makes it back, he should benefit from the return of C Mike Pouncey, who is expected to make his season debut in Week 6.
