Injury Alex Smith out with lacerated spleen     -- Fri Dec 26 12:55 pm --

Chase Daniel to start against Chargers
Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith will miss Sunday’s regular-season finale against San Diego because of a lacerated spleen. Backup Chase Daniel will start at quarterback on Sunday, just as he did in the regular-season finale a year ago when the Chiefs, with a playoff spot wrapped up, sat their starters at San Diego. (Kansas City Star)

FF Today's Take: Smith was injured in last week's game but didn't have any symptoms until after practice this week. Normally recovery time is six weeks an no surgery is expected. Daniel starter the final regular season game last season against the Chargers throwing 21-30 for 200 yards, 1 TD and 59 yards rushing. He makes for interesting cap relief in DFS formats this week.
