|When Adrian Peterson suffered a torn ACL in Week 16 last season, it appeared that Gerhart, the Vikingís second round selection in the 2010 draft, would finally get an opportunity to strut his stuff, at least early in the 2012 season. Unfortunately for Gerhart, he suffered an MCL tear and off-season reports indicated that Peterson is ahead of schedule in his recovery and may be ready to play on opening day. Those factors combined relegate Gerhart to little more than Petersonís handcuff – barring a setback in Petersonís recovery. At best, Gerhart may be a useful flex option for the early part of the season until Peterson is fully recovered.
| Allen Hurns ruled out with concussion -- Fri Dec 4 5:30 pm --|
Jags' WR has not cleared NFL's concussion protocol
|Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Allen Hurns will not play against Tennessee on Sunday because he has not yet cleared the NFL's concussion protocol. Hurns was one of three players the Jaguars (4-7) ruled out against the Titans (2-9). Linebacker Dan Skuta (groin) and backup running back Toby Gerhart (groin) also will not play. Hurns suffered the concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 31-25 loss to San Diego. This week's game will be the first he's missed since he signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Hurns has battled through an ankle injury and a sports hernia this season to catch 48 passes for 758 yards and seven touchdowns.
FF Today's Take: Hurns has quietly been a top-15 fantasy WR this year, outproducing names like Demaryius Thomas, Randall Cobb and T.Y. Hilton. In his absence this week, Marqise Lee should slide into Hurns' spot opposite Allen Robinson.
