|Entering his 2nd season in the league and coming off an unproductive rookie season, not much was expected of Parker. That wonít be the case in 2012. After putting together a solid season with 40 receptions for 554 yards and three touchdowns, Parker will challenge Sammie Stroughter for the teamís slot receiving role until Arrelious Benn returns from a sprained MCL suffered in late July. The former undrafted 6í0Ē, 200 pound free agent from North Alabama figures to have the upper hand in that battle. While Parker is shifty enough to be successful out of the slot, he lacks deep speed and is unlikely to deliver many big plays, limiting his fantasy upside. He also struggled down the stretch in 2011, catching 12 passes for 171 yards and no touchdowns over his final seven games. With the Bucs expected to feature Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams, Parker isnít worth owning in 2012.
| Victor Cruz ruled out Sunday vs Falcons -- Fri Sep 18 4:25 pm --|
Rueben Randle will again be Giants WR2
|Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz (calf) will not play Sunday against Atlanta, reports Tom Rock of Newsday. Cruz has yet to practice through the first two weeks of the season, with recent claims suggesting he might not be ready until Week 4. Rueben Randle will start across from Odell Beckham against the Falcons, leaving Preston Parker as the No. 3 wide receiver. (CBS Sports)|
FF Today's Take: Randle should be the greatest beneficiary while Cruz remains out, though he frustratingly mustered just 23 yards on three receptions in the Giants' loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. Expect an improvement this week, facing a porous Falcons' defense that gave up 336 yards in week one. Randle is a decent WR3 while Cruz is out.
