The Houston Texans signed veteran wide receiver Nate Washington on Wednesday.
Terms of the deal weren't announced. Washington, who will be 32 before the season starts, played the previous six seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
FF Today's Take:Washington and Cecil Shorts have been signed to fill the void of Andre Johnson. Washington has filled a secondary receiver role in Tennessee the last few years and his best season came in 2011 when posted 74 receptions, 1023 yards, 7 TDs. In Houston, he'll battle Shorts for targets but in fantasy, he will likely go undrafted.
Cecil Shorts headed to Houston-- Mon Mar 16 3:15 pm --
Free-agent wide receiver Cecil Shorts has agreed to a two-year deal with the Houston Texans, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan.
Shorts, who visited with the Texans on Monday, will have a chance to start in Houston, who released longtime star receiver Andre Johnson last week.(ESPN)
FF Today's Take:You can pencil in Shorts opposite DeAndre Hopkins in the Texans starting lineup. He's yet to back up his breakout performance in 2012 (55-979-7) and has developed the injury-prone tag thanks to nagging lower leg injuries. Shorts was bothered by a hamstring injury during camp last season and missed three games at the start of the season. With Hopkins expected to dominate targets, Shorts will be nothing more than a late-round flier in fantasy leagues this summer.
