Positve news on Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett-- Wed Oct 12 3:32 pm --
Lockett frustrated at snap count past two weeks
Carroll said QB Russell Wilson “looks great and that’s a great thing for us.” Wilson has been hobbled by a sprained ankle and sprained MCL. But Carroll says Wilson looks the best he has since before suffering the high ankle sprain in week one. Carroll said WR Tyler Lockett, who has been limited in snaps the past two weeks after suffering a sprained knee against the Rams, “looks really good. Felt really good. He feels the best he’s felt (since being injured).” Carrol said Lockett has been “a little frustrated” at being limited in snaps the past two weeks and is hoping to get back to normal this week.(Seattle Times)
FF Today's Take:It's good to know Russell Wilson didn't hurt his knee any more while playing with an MCL injury. He was able to notch his first 300-yard passing game of the season last week against the Jets and is a low end QB1 heading into Week 6. Lockett appears to be nearing full health and should return to being a weekly flex option in deeper formats.
Russell Wilson diagnosed with MCL sprain-- Mon Sep 26 5:35 pm --
Also dealing with high ankle sprain
Pete Carroll said Russell Wilson has an MCL sprain. Says Wilson "feels great" and is recovering well.(ESPN)
FF Today's Take:Of all the adjectives Carroll could have used to describe how Wilson is feeling at the moment, "great" seems among the most unlikely. Expect the fifth-year quarterback to be labeled questionable at best when the injury report comes out. Wilson's lower-body injuries have limited him to 33 yards rushing through three games, making him a fringe QB1 at best. Rookie UDFA Trevone Boykin would get the odd if Wilson cannot go and be a high-upside QB2 in Week 4 against the New York Jets.
Russell Wilson practices, on track to start-- Wed Sep 14 6:06 pm --
RENTON, Wash. -- Russell Wilson participated in practice Wednesday and continues to be on track to start for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams.
"His attitude is as charged-up as you can imagine, as always," coach Pete Carroll said. "But he's excited to prove that he can make it back, get back and all that. He's half-crazy about proving so it's good. His attitude's great."
FF Today's Take:This is great news for Russell Wilson's chances of playing in Week 2, albeit at less than full health. He had his ankle heavily wrapped but it didn't stop him from working with his receivers and getting through practice. If the Rams can't muster up much offense for a second straight week Wilson might not have to do too much in this contest.
