Injury Travis Benjamin absent from practice Thursday     -- Thu Nov 10 2:15 pm --

Knee injury
Chargers WRs Tyrell Williams, Travis Benjamin been on same practice schedule in recent weeks. Not this week. TW practicing today. TB isn't. (Michael Gehlken on Twitter)

FF Today's Take: In all likelihood Benjamin will sit again this week leaving Tyrell Williams, Antonio Gates and Dontrelle Inman to soak up targets from Philip Rivers. Miami's defense represents a positive matchup for Williams he's on the WR1/WR2 radar for Week 10.
Injury Tight End Hunter Henry ruled out     -- Fri Nov 4 3:00 pm --

Knee injury
Credit rookie Hunter Henry for playing through a knee injury last Sunday in Denver. It is serious enough to sideline him now. The Chargers tight end missed his third straight practice Friday and will not play Sunday. (San Diego Union Tribune)

FF Today's Take: With Henry out and Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin nicked up, Antonio Gates could be used a bit more this week against the Titans. He'll be a sneaky DFS play with a better than average chance at a touchdown.
Injury Host of Chargers miss practice Thursday     -- Thu Nov 3 2:30 pm --

WR Tyrell Williams, WR Travis Benjamin, TE Hunter Henry all sit
Chargers not practicing in early session include TE Henry, LB Perryman, LB Brown, CB Mager, WR Benjamin, WR Tyrell Williams. (Tom Krasovic on Twitter)

FF Today's Take: The Chargers are in a good spot, facing a middling Titans pass defense but we'll have to wait until Friday to get a better handle on who will suit up. For now, it appears Travis Benjamin is the most likely to sit. Antonio Gates would have increased value if Hunter Henry sits.
Injury Travis Benjamin battling PCL sprain     -- Mon Oct 31 5:55 pm --

Seeking second opinion after playing through pain for weeks
Travis Benjamin, who has been battling a PCL sprain for weeks, is getting a second opinion, source said. Discomfort has continued. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FF Today's Take: Benjamin is still on track for a career-high 76 catches, but his effectiveness has waned in recent weeks as the injury has lingered and Tyrell Williams has emerged as the top receiver. Considering he is seeking a second opinion, it would be surprising to see him play this week. In such a scenario, Williams would become the clear lead receiver, while Dontrelle Inman and Griff Whalen would become more consistently involved.
Injury TE Hunter Henry practices     -- Wed Oct 26 5:33 pm --

Travis Benjamin and Tyrell Williams sit out Wednesday
Hunter Henry was back on the field Wednesday following a Sunday concussion. The Chargers tight end worked in pads during the teamís afternoon session. Wide receivers Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin joined cornerback Craig Mager and outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu as non-participants. (San Diego Times Union)

FF Today's Take: Hunter Henry (concussion) is already back at practice and should be ready to play barring a set back. Receivers Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin do not appear to be dealing with anything serious. The team is likely giving the pair extra rest ahead of a key divisional road game against the Broncos. Expect both to return to practice Thursday and be flex options heading into Week 8.
Injury Keenan Allen out for season     -- Mon Sep 12 6:10 pm --

Suffered torn ACL, minor cartilage damage in Week 1 loss
Chargers coach Mike McCoy confirmed that receiver Keenan Allen suffered an ACL tear in his right knee and is done for the year after the team received results from an MRI on Monday. The Chargers will place Allen on injured reserve, and use his vacant roster spot to activate rookie defensive end Joey Bosa from the exempt list. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Allen also suffered some minor cartilage damage in addition to the ACL tear. (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: Less than one year after suffering a lacerated kidney, Allen is getting hit with another major injury. While Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead should be locked into their respective TE1 and high-end RB2 designations in PPR leagues with the likely bump in volume they are about to receive, San Diego will also expand Travis Benjamin's role. The Chargers also love Tyrell Williams, and he could be the one that ends up replacing Allen as a starter. Williams is worth a speculative add in all leagues.
