| Marvin Jones back at practice Friday -- Fri Sep 30 12:30 pm --|
|Detroit Lions receiver Marvin Jones was practicing with the team on Friday, just one day after he popped up on the team's injury report with a hamstring problem.
Jones was limited on Thursday by the injury, but seemed fine while working out with the other receivers during the 15 or so minutes of practice that were open to the media. (MLive.com)|
FF Today's Take: Jones inclusion on the injury report yesterday raised eyebrows of fantasy owners. It seems like he'll be good to go but check reports later this weekend for confirmation. He'll be a WR1 if he plays against Chicago.
| Marvin Jones shows up on injury report -- Thu Sep 29 7:50 pm --|
Limited practice; hamstring injury
|Marvin Jones is on Thursday’s injury report as a limited participant in practice after not being on the report at all after Wednesday’s practice. That suggests that Jones may have come down with the injury during practice and will make Friday’s practice one to watch for a better idea about how much the hamstring might affect him against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. (Pro Football Talk)|
FF Today's Take: The WR1 after three weeks, Jones will need to get a full practice in on Friday in order to quell fears of him missing time against the Bears in Week 4. If he is forced to sit out, Anquan Boldin and Golden Tate become much better fantasy options against Chicago's shell of a defense, while Eric Ebron could also be nearing must-start territory as well.
|Tyler Boyd looks like a starter in Cincinnati -- Tue Aug 23 11:16 am --|
Rookie now "unquestioned leader" in battle for No. 2 WR
|On Monday, the Bengals lined up rookie wide receiver Tyler Boyd in a variety of ways during practice. With Marvin Jones (Lions) and Mohamed Sanu (Falcons) out of Cincinnati, Boyd could have an immediate fantasy impact. (Bengals.com)|
FF Today's Take: Seven-year veteran Brandon LaFell returns to practice this week with a damaged ligament in his hand after a 10-day absence, but Boyd is the unquestioned leader in the clubhouse as they get set to gauge LaFell in Sunday’s dress rehearsal in Jacksonville. Boyd could make a very sneaky late-round WR pick with massive upside.
|Boldin expected to sign deal with Lions -- Tue Jul 26 2:05 pm --|
One-year deal expected to be finalized today
|The Detroit Lions are planning to sign veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin to a one-year deal, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Boldin and the Lions, who need depth at receiver in the wake of Calvin Johnson's retirement, were finalizing the deal Tuesday, sources told Schefter.
FF Today's Take: Boldin will be thrown into the mix with Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, Eric Ebron, T.J. Jones and receiving specialist Theo Riddick. Boldin has experience with Jim Caldwell from their days in Baltimore. He's likely more of a depth piece than a major contributor but he's still very capable of having a fantasy impact at age 35. He's shaping up to be a mid-to-late round draft pick with WR4/5 value.
