| Eric Decker undergoes hip surgery -- Tue Oct 18 2:00 pm --|
Shoulder surgery needed as well
|The hip surgery was deemed necessary during an evaluation that occurred when Eric Decker was placed on injured reserve for a torn rotator cuff on October 12. The anticipated recovery time for the surgery is six months. Once Decker is off crutches, he will subsequently undergo a procedure on his shoulder. The estimated recovery for his shoulder surgery is eight months.

FF Today's Take: Considering Decker's shoulder surgery is delayed, his status for the start of the 2017 season is in question. Brandon Marshall, Quincy Enunwa remain the top two receivers for the Jets although the team is on the verge of spiraling out of control given the bad play at the quarterback position.

Expects 6-8 month rehab
|Jets WR Eric Decker, speaking for the first time since his season-ending surgery was announced, said he expects to have surgery in the next week or two. He said it will be a six- to eight-month rehab. Looking ahead to rehab, he said, "It's not a fun time, but obviously it's something that needs to be done to continue my career." He said the pain from the torn rotator cuff is like "someone is stabbing you," adding that it showed no improvement over the last two weeks. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Decker is safe to drop in redraft leagues. It is possible he could miss most of the team's offseason work if he pushes the back end of his estimated timeline. Quincy Enunwa will be a serviceable WR3 in most leagues during his absence, but the real winners in this deal for fantasy purposes are the owners of Brandon Marshall, who should be among the league leaders in targets from here on out.

Expected to have shoulder surgery
|The Jets will likely be without one of their biggest offensive weapons the rest of the way.
Wide receiver Eric Decker is being placed on injured reserve, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday. Decker is expected to have shoulder surgery, which will likely result in his season being over. He tried to get back on the field but couldn't do it, Rapoport added. (NFL.com)|
FF Today's Take: This is a big loss for Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets offense. Quincy Enunwa will continue to fill the No.2 wide receiver role with Decker out and expect Robby Anderson to see slight bump in snaps but he won't be a fantasy option. the Jets recently claimed Jeremy Butler off the Buccaneers practice squad.
| Eric Decker out Week 5 -- Fri Oct 7 1:00 pm --|
|Wide receiver Eric Decker has been ruled out for the second straight week due to a partially torn rotator cuff in his shoulder. Wide receiver Quincy Enunwa is questionable with a knee injury after not appearing on the injury report earlier in the week, so the Jets could be quite shorthanded at wideout if things don’t go his way. (ProFootballTalk)|
FF Today's Take: With Decker out, Enunwa would be counted on to see an increase in targets but this new knee injury is concerning. Brandon Marshall is shaping up to be a high-end WR1. Robby Anderson could see an increase in targets if Enunwa is ruled out.

Partially torn labrum; WR will decide on playing status by Friday
|For all of the “progress” Eric Decker has made since last week, the Jets receiver still can’t say whether he’ll suit up Sunday — or even again this season.
Decker said Thursday that surgery to repair the slightly torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder has “been in discussion. But that’s something down the road when we have the conversation we’ll look at it again. And they’ll let me know what the right thing to do is.” (Newsday)|
FF Today's Take: The Jets tweeted Decker's declaration Thursday morning. The truth of the matter is his situation is truly up in the air, with some reports suggesting he is a possibility for Week 5 versus Pittsburgh, while others seem to doubt he'll be able to return this season. Owners should expect him to sit out at least this week and would be wise to sell high if he is able to have a good game if he can return. Until Decker plays, Quincy Enunwa is a high-end WR3 at worst.

Tear in his rotator cuff
|Jets WR Eric Decker has a partial tear in his rotator cuff and won't play Sunday, the team announced. Todd Bowles said it's a week-to-week injury. He didn't rule out surgery down the road; it depends on healing and rehab. This a big blow to the Jets' struggling passing attack. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Decker has been a model of consistency since 2015 but his injury will put fantasy owners in a bind. Quincy Enunwa will move into a starting role and has immediate WR3 and Flex appeal.
| Eric Decker misses practice Thursday -- Thu Sep 29 11:35 am --|
|Jets WR Eric Decker (shoulder) is not practicing. He's at the field, but he didn't even participate in stretching. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Decker missed Wednesday as well and reportedly had an MRI on his shoulder injury that he aggravated last Sunday. If Decker ends up sitting this week, Quincy Enunwa becomes a viable WR3 even against a difficult Seattle defense.

Aggrevated injury against the Chiefs in Week 3
|Three separate Jets suffered shoulder injuries in their 24-3 loss to the Chiefs, most notably wide receiver Eric Decker. Decker did not practice Wednesday and will likely get an MRI on his shoulder, coach Todd Bowles told reporters. Decker aggravated the injury on Sunday after practicing in a limited fashion last week. (NFL.com)|
FF Today's Take: Having an MRI done midweek after the head coach acknowledged that the injury was aggravated on Sunday leaves Eric Decker's playing status for Sunday up in the air. Fantasy owners should know more by the end of the week and have a backup plan ready to go. Quincy Enunwa and Jalin Marshall would see a few more targets if Decker was not able to suit up against the Seahawks.
| Brandon Marshall limited Friday -- Fri Sep 23 1:30 pm --|
|Speaking to the media Friday, Todd Bowles says Brandon Marshall is "probably a game-time" decision after limited practice, making it likely he'll play in Kansas City on Sunday.
"Hopefully. That's the plan," Marshall said when asked if he'll play. "I have to be smart. It's a long season."
Marshall continues to battle a knee and foot injury since being tackled by his facemask in a Week 2 win over the Buffalo Bills. (NY Daily News)|
FF Today's Take: Unfortunately for fantasy owners the Jets and Chiefs don't kick off until late Sunday afternoon. Hopefully we'll get a clearer picture on Marshall's status by Sunday morning. Quincy Enunwa would see an increased role if Marshall sits.

Jets WR feels "stable" and might take on Chiefs
|Brandon Marshall didn't practice Monday because of the knee injury he suffered in the Jets' win over the Bills on Thursday — one that looked much worse at first glance — but he remains optimistic he'll have a chance to play Sunday when the Jets take on the Chiefs in Kansas City. (New York Daily News)|
FF Today's Take: "The school I come from is, don't rule me out until Sunday. I need all the way up until pregame warmup to see if I'm good to go," Marshall said Monday. "Right now, I feel stable. I feel good. And I'm going to work my tail off to get out there and be out there with the guys."
This is worth monitoring, but with Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa (ribs) playing well, Marshall may not have to be forced back into action so quickly.
