|Sam Bradford to start? -- Wed Sep 7 6:32 pm --|
Shaun Hill and Sam Bradford both preparing to start
|EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - It doesn’t much matter to Shaun Hill or Sam Bradford that a starting quarterback hasn’t yet been announced for Sunday, because each is preparing as if it will be him. Bradford, whom the Vikings traded for after Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending injury last week, echoed Hill’s sentiments. He’s donning a purple jersey rather than Eagles “Midnight Green,” but his mentality hasn’t wavered - he’s getting ready to receive the starting nod at Tennessee for the season opener. (Vikings.com)|
FF Today's Take: It would be hard to imagine Sam Bradford being in the huddle when the Vikings open the year but the job seems to be his once he gets up to speed. Neither quarterback will be asked to do much so take a wait and see approach to any Vikings receivers until this situation plays itself out.

Eagles first-round pick in 2017
|Minnesota Vikings are trading for Eagles' QB Sam Bradford, league sources tell ESPN. Vikings traded a 2017 first-round draft choice and a fourth-round pick to Eagles. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: It sounds like the Eagles may have received a first-round pick, but details of the deal are not confirmed at this point. Minnesota was in dire need of a quarterback after losing Teddy Bridgewater (knee) for season. Chase Daniel will open the season as the Eagles starting QB but his fantasy value is similar to Bradford's as a QB2. Bradford's fantasy value remains relatively unchanged, but the upgrade over Shaun Hill is better news for the Vikings receiving corps.
| Update on Teddy Bridgewater -- Wed Aug 31 5:17 pm --|
Dislocated knee, Torn ACL
|"After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage," the statement read. "Fortunately, there appears to be no nerve or arterial damage. Surgical repair will be scheduled within the next few days. Although the recovery time will be significant, we expect Teddy to make a full recovery."
FF Today's Take: This is a huge blow to the Vikings offense as the Vikings look to add another quarterback to pair with Shaun Hill. Fantasy owners should lower the ceilings of all receivers. If you were buying Adrian Peterson prior to Teddy Bridgewater going down for the year (and possibly longer) you should continue to make him one of the first running backs taken in 2016. Jerick McKinnon deserves a slight bump in the rankings as Minnesota's running game may become a larger part of the week to week game plan.
| Bridgewater suffers non-contact injury in practice -- Tue Aug 30 3:00 pm --|
Vikings canceled practice after 25 minutes
|The Minnesota Vikings canceled their practice Tuesday after quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered an apparently serious injury in a non-contact drill.
The Vikings asked reporters to leave the field area and to gather in the media room, where coach Mike Zimmer is expected to address Bridgewater's injury.
Players removed their helmets and gathered around Bridgewater as the third-year quarterback was examined by medical personnel. An ambulance later drove onto the field. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Obviously this doesn't sound good for Bridgewater and the Vikings. He was a mid-level fantasy QB2 but any time a team loses it's starting quarterback it has a general effect on the whole offense. Shaun Hill is the current backup.
