|Andre Johnson given permission to seek trade -- Mon Mar 2 6:24 pm --|
Reduced role doesn't sit well with AJ
|Texans gave Andre Johnson permission to seek a trade. Told him he'd have a reduced role next season. He asked to be traded or cut instead. (John McClain on Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: As I wrote in my Early WR Rankings article the torch was passed to DeAndre Hopkins last season and now it appears the Texans are making it official. Johnson will be 34 in July and his contract over the next two years makes it highly unlikely the Texans can find a trade partner. If released, Johnson will certainly have a market for his services. Playoff caliber teams (NE, BAL, SEA) in need of a veteran receiver would give him an opportunity.

Missed practice all week with ankle injury
|After his morning workout, Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins is good to go today, source said. He’s battling an ankle injury, sat out all week. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: Hopkins missed practice all week. With Case Keenum under center Hopkins value takes a ding along with Andre Johnson's. On the plus side, the Ravens have given up the 2nd-most fantasy points to wide receivers on the season.
| DeAndre Hopkins likely game-time decision -- Thu Dec 18 4:15 pm --|
|Bill O' Brien: DeAndre Hopkins definitely day to day. Final decision will be made Sunday morning. (Dale Robertson on Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: The season can't end fast enough for the Texans, who haven't had the services of their No. 1 overall pick (Jadeveon Clowney) for most of the season, can't keep Arian Foster healthy for much of the time and are on their fourth quarterback. Andre Johnson (concussion) should be back after a one-game absence and see an increase in targets if Hopkins can't go, although it is hard to know whether that is a good thing as Houston will likely start Case Keenum under center.

Texans WR feeling better this week
|Andre Johnson will likely return to the starting lineup for the Texans against Baltimore.
“I think he feels better today,” head coach Bill O’Brien said Monday. “Looks like we would have Andre Johnson back for Sunday.”
On December 7, Johnson suffered a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit in Jacksonville. After failing to clear the league’s concussion protocol, Johnson was inactive in Sunday’s 17-10 loss to the Colts.
The twelve-year veteran All-Pro receiver is currently four catches from becoming the tenth player in NFL history to reach 1,000 career receptions. If he does so against the Ravens in Week 16, he’ll become the second fastest player to reach the milestone, accomplishing it in his 168th game. (HoustonTexans.com)|
FF Today's Take: You'll have to monitor his status leading up to game time, but if he's no longer experiencing symptoms that's a good thing. The problem is that Texans will start either Case Keenum or Thaddeus Lewis at QB, which doesn't bode well for the passing game.

|The Texans are not expected to have the services of WR Andre Johnson (concussion) today against the #Colts, source says. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: As of Saturday night Johnson had not gained medical clearance to return to the field. Expect him to be on the Inactive list. The No.3 receiver, Damaris Johnson, could see an increase in targets.
| Andre Johnson remains day-to-day -- Wed Dec 10 5:50 pm --|
In concussion protocol
|Wide receiver Andre Johnson and tight end Garrett Graham continue to be day-to-day, Texans coach Bill O’Brien said Wednesday.
O’Brien was unable to reveal where Johnson stands in the NFL’s concussion protocol.
FF Today's Take: Andre Johnson owners probably won't know if the wide receiver will be cleared until Sunday so have backup plans in place. Regardless of whether Johnson is available, DeAndre Hopkins should be used more in the passing game.

Veterans Texans WR could miss Week 15
|The longest-tenured Texan may not be available for his team’s biggest game of the season.
Veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson suffered a concussion during the Texans’ 27-13 victory at Jacksonville on Sunday. After receiving a helmet-to-helmet blow, Johnson left the field and did not return to action.
Texans coach Bill O’Brien said Monday that Johnson will be evaluated as the team prepares for a critical AFC South matchup at Indianapolis.
“He has to pass the concussion test to be able to be cleared,” O’Brien said at NRG Stadium. “I would say that’s definitely a day-to-day thing.”
FF Today's Take: We're not bullish on Johnson's fantasy prospects heading into Week 15. Even if he plays, the Texans are likely to focus on running the ball and targeting the more explosive DeAndre Hopkins in the passing game.
