2014 Outlook
Depth Chart
Johnson’s hamstring injury in Week 4 torpedoed the hopes of many fantasy owners as one of fantasy’s top rated wide receivers went on to finish the year with the lowest level of production of his career. By season’s end, Johnson had appeared in just seven games, amassing 33 receptions for 492 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 11.2 fantasy points per game, the third worst performance of his nine-year career. Johnson will be 31 years old when the season starts and with 12 missed games over the past two seasons, there are legitimate concerns as to whether he can remain healthy for an entire year. Adding to those concerns is the arthroscopic surgery on his knee that he underwent in May. While his health is up for debate, Johnson’s talent remains top-notch and he will eat up plenty of targets in Houston’s passing attacked with no clear-cut starter opposite him and Owen Daniels seemingly in decline. Offsetting those positives is the fact the Texans are clearly a run first team. AJ is worthy of being drafted as a mid to lower tier WR1 in 2012 but the risk of grabbing him has never been higher.

News From The Past 90 Days
Arian Foster expected to play versus Browns     -- Tue Nov 11 9:40 am --

Groin seems okay, but Alfred Blue still a smart add
The Texans should be in good shape physically when they play at Cleveland on Sunday. Cornerback Johnathan Joseph passed the concussion protocol and will start against the Browns. “He was out there today, and he looked good,” coach Bill O’Brien said after practice. The only player the Texans know they’ll be missing is cornerback Kareem Jackson, who suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee against Philadelphia and could miss three games. “The players I mentioned last week are still day-to-day,” O’Brien said. That means running back Arian Foster, inside linebacker Brian Cushing and outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney. Foster and Cushing are expected to play. No one has any idea about Clowney, who continues to experience soreness in his knee. (Houston Chronicle)

FF Today's Take: The Texans are dealing with some important defensive injuries and have benched Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor of the strong-armed Ryan Mallett, who makes his first NFL start. It's hard to say how much the Texans will use Foster in Week 11, so Alfred Blue makes an interesting flex option, and both Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins remain must-play WRs in 12-team leagues.
Texans make switch at QB, Mallett to start Week 11     -- Wed Nov 5 11:45 am --

Ryan Fitzpatrick benched
Ryan Mallett is the Texans’ new starting quarterback. Coach Bill O’Brien named Mallett the starter Wednesday, after debating during recent days whether to make a change. The first-year coach acknowledged the decision to bench veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick was "very difficult." (Houston Chronicle)

FF Today's Take: Fitzpatrick will be the backup in Week 11 with Tom Savage operating as the No. 3 quarterback. Fitzpatrick has completed 62 percent of his passes for 1960 yards, 11 TDs and 8 INTs in nine games. The Texans are 4-5 and looking for a spark. For now, consider Mallett a QB2 until he shows consistency with Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins.

FF Today's Take: Both Texans stars will start and have decent matchups against the Cowboys.
