Falcons release Harry Douglas-- Fri Feb 27 10:14 am --
Falcons $3.5 million of cap space
The Falcons are no longer wild about Harry Douglas.
PFT has learned, via a league source, that the team has released the veteran wide receiver. Douglas was set to make $3.5 million in the final year of the four-year contract he signed with the Falcons in 2012. None of that money was guaranteed, so the Falcons will be able to put it toward other uses this offseason.(ProFootballTalk)
FF Today's Take:Douglas has filled the No.3 wide receiver role in Atlanta for several years and has his best season in 2013 (85-1067-2) while filling in for an injured Julio Jones and Roddy White. Since he was released, Douglas is free to sign with a team before the start of free agency on March 10th.
Julio Jones expected to play, Active-- Sun Dec 21 11:13 am --
FF Today's Take:Jones went through workouts early this morning and while he's far from 100%, he's expected to play. Keep in mind, the risk for decoy, re-injury or being limited is great. Expectations should be limited.
Julio Jones out for Week 15-- Sun Dec 14 11:35 am --
FF Today's Take:Ed Werder of ESPN also reported that Julio is bothered by a labrum issue in his hip. Roddy White and Harry Douglas will get the start. Both are intriguing options against a weak Steelers secondary.
