Injury Flacco, Forsett to miss the rest of the season     -- Mon Nov 23 4:10 pm --

Matt Schaub, Buck Allen to move up the depth chart
Joe Flacco will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL and possibly a torn MCL, coach John Harbaugh announced after the Ravens' win over the Rams. The team also lost Pro Bowl running back Justin Forsett for the rest of the season due to a broken arm. Forsett, Flacco, No. 1 receiver Steve Smith, defensive captain Terrell Suggs, speedy first-round draft pick Breshad Perriman and center Jeremy Zuttah have all been injured for the Ravens. (

FF Today's Take: The Ravens should be an obvious offense to target each week for fantasy defense streamers. (The Browns, Dolphins and Seahawks are next on the schedule.) Matt Schaub, who has a 10:16 TD-to-INT ratio over the last two years, has been mostly terrible over that time and will not have elite receiver at his disposal to make him look better. Javorius Allen should see as many touches as he can handle moving forward, making him a reasonable fantasy RB2 or quality flex option.
Injury Forsett remains a game-time decision     -- Fri Oct 16 6:00 pm --

RB bothered by a sore ankle
The Ravens might be without two of their opening day running backs on Sunday. Starting back Justin Forsett returned to practice Friday, but remains a "game-time decision" with an ankle injury, coach John Harbaugh told the media. This news comes just two days after Baltimore placed backup running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) on season-ending injured reserve and promoted rookie back Javorius Allen. After a slow start, Forsett has started to heat up for the struggling Ravens. Against two division rivals, Forsett ran for 150 and 121 yards in consecutive weeks, averaging at least 5.6 yards per carry in each game. While Allen gashed the Browns last week for a career-high 58 yards on just eight rushes, he has yet to start a game in the NFL and has never rushed for more than nine times in a game. (

FF Today's Take: Forsett owners would be wise to have Javorius Allen ready to go on Sunday should the veteran back sit out of the Ravens's tilt with the woeful San Francisco 49ers.
Injury Ravens hopeful Steve Smith can play in Week 6     -- Mon Oct 12 5:25 pm --

Sat out Week 5 with four microfractures in his back
There's a shot that injured Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith will play Sunday at San Francisco and miss only one game with four micro fractures in his back. Coach John Harbaugh doesn't know whether Smith will practice this week, but he indicated that the Ravens' leading receiver has been training hard. "I'm hopeful," Harbaugh said Monday. "Very hopeful. There's always a chance with Steve Smith. Always. Never rule Steve Smith out." (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: Smith is as tough as they come, so it is entirely possible he can go against the 49ers in Week 6. Harbaugh also told ESPN RB Justin Forsett doesn't have a high ankle sprain, giving him "a chance" to suit up in the same game. Expect both to be game-time decisions, with Forsett the more likely of the two to play versus San Francisco.
