2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
Mark Sanchez and newly acquired Sam Bradford will compete for the starting quarterback role for head coach Chip Kelly. Although Sanchez has nine games under his belt running Kelly’s offense last season, the Eagles made a big splash this offseason by acquiring Bradford via trade with the Rams for former starter Nick Foles, making it clear that Bradford will be the starter if he can stay healthy. Staying healthy has been a difficult task for Bradford, after sustaining a second severe knee injury last season as a member of the Rams. If Bradford is not able to stay on the field, Sanchez will take the wheel on an offense that ranked sixth in passing yards per game in 2014. Although Sanchez did post a career high 64.1% completion percentage in nine games in 2014, including an impressive 374-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Redskins in Week 16, he is only worthy of a late-draft pick considering the depth of the quarterback position. However, an injury to Bradford would make Sanchez a viable streaming option later in the season.

Sam Bradford getting contract extension?
Eagles already working with QB to shore up short-term deal
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 4, 9:00 am

Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have interest in tying starting quarterback Sam Bradford to the franchise beyond the upcoming season and have begun discussing a contract extension, according to sources. Eagles coach Chip Kelly has Bradford taking the first-team reps at training camp ahead of Mark Sanchez, his primary competition for the starting position. Bradford is coming off the second ACL injury of his career, but Kelly wants a quarterback around whom he can build his team, and Bradford has made a strong early impression. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Despite the concerns about Bradford's injury history, Kelly recognizes the potential for Bradford to be a franchise quarterback. It's a very good sign for fantasy owners interested in taking a risk and drafting the former No. 1 overall pick from 2010. While it's important he stay healthy and we see what he can do in Kelly's offense, there's at least potential for a huge breakout from Bradford, who's making friends quickly in Philly.

Injury Bradford on track for start of training camp
QB is reportedly "looking great"
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jul 23, 6:00 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
According to a person familiar with the situation who requested anonymity, Sam Bradford is "looking great", has been in the rehab room close to every day this summer and should be ready to go when training camp opens. That means Bradford should be out on the field for 11-on-11 drills for the start of training camp. "If I'm not ready for 11 on 11 by training camp, then something has gone horribly wrong,'' Bradford said. "That's the plan right now. We're going to keep plugging away and be ready when camp starts." (NJ.com)

FFToday's Take: A healthy Bradford is the odds-on favorite to hold off Mark Sanchez and win the Eagles' quarterback competition. The bigger question will be whether or not Bradford's body - and specifically his left ACL - will cooperate. If he stays on the field for all 16 games for only the third time in his career, Bradford has a great shot of becoming a top-10 fantasy quarterback in redraft leagues this season.

Injury Bradford's health appears to be improving
"A little more mobile" in latest round of OTAs
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jun 8, 6:00 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
Sam Bradford (ACL) continued to progress in terms of how much he did in practice and looked a little more mobile than he had in the first two weeks of OTAs. Bradford told reporters after practice that he still couldn’t definitively say that he would be 100 percent ready for the start of training camp. As for how the other quarterbacks performed, Mark Sanchez had another Mark Sanchez-practice, in that he looked substantially better than he did a year ago this time. Sanchez took all the first-team reps. (Philadelphia Inquirer)

FFToday's Take: HC Chip Kelly has promised a legitimate competition, although one would have to think a healthy Bradford would win anything close to a tiebreaker with Sanchez. Regardless, this is good news for the ex-Jet, who appears to be making good progress from the shoulder injury that claimed his 2013 season and may have still affected him during his nine-game run in relief of Nick Foles last year.
