| Gronk, Edelman, Amendola all questionable|
Gronkowski dealing with back and knee injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jan 15, 4:30 pm
|#Patriots injury report: Gronk (knee/back), Edelman (foot), Vollmer (ankle), Chandler Jones (abdomen/toe) all listed QUESTIONABLE (Ben Volin on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Rob Gronkowski reportedly got an injection in his knee on Thursday for pain relief and is also dealing with a back injury. It looks like he's headed for a gametime decision. Given the secretive nature of the Patriots we'll need to wait for the inactive list on Saturday to be sure, but it's a good bet that Gronk, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola will all be active. Their effectiveness is the bigger question.
| Edelman, Brady cleared for Divisional Round|
Three other Patriots trending in right direction
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jan 11, 6:20 pm
|Receiver Julian Edelman (broken foot), quarterback Tom Brady (ankle sprain) and linebacker Dont'a Hightower (MCL sprain) were all accounted for at Monday's practice, and will play Saturday versus the Chiefs, reports Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. Pass rusher Chandler Jones (toe) and left tackle Sebastian Vollmer (ankle sprain) were also present Monday and could play this weekend, per Howe. Danny Amendola appears to be out of the woods with his late-December knee injury. (NFL.com)|
FFToday's Take: It appears Brady will have his top two receivers (Rob Gronkowski and Edelman) for the first time since Week 10, when New England were still undefeated. With S Eric Berry playing some of the best football of his career and doing his part to shut down opposing tight ends, Edelman's health - and the health of the Patriots' offensive line - figures to be that much more important this weekend as New England faces Kansas City.
| Danny Amendola active for Patriots|
Usage remains unclear
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Jan 3, 11:35 am
|The Patriots declared their inactives, and there’s no one new on the list.
Hightower, Freeny, Siliga, Vollmer, Edelman, Jones and Coleman will be inactive.
That means wide receiver Danny Amendola (knee), safeties Devin McCourty (ankle) and Patrick Chung (foot), defensive end Rob Ninkovich (shin), guard Josh Kline (shoulder) and offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle (shoulder) will suit up. (NESN)|
FFToday's Take: Danny Amendola left early in Week 15 with a knee injury but will return today. His usage is up in the air making him a risky fantasy play in Week 17. The Patriots need a win to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
| Amendola likely out until playoffs|
Likely knee sprain; Julian Edelman due back in Week 16 or 17
By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 21, 6:35 pm
|WR Danny Amendola is still getting tests on his knee, but the belief is it's a sprain that won't cause him to miss playoff time (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Amendola's durability has long been his biggest weakness and it appears he'll miss more time yet again. The Patriots are optimistic Julian Edelman will get at least one game in during the regular season in order to get acclimated for the playoffs, so owners that are rolling with Tom Brady or kept Edelman on their roster might see those players hook on a regular basis in Week 17 - if not Week 16 - assuming Edelman is cleared to play before then.
| Julian Edelman (foot) spotted at practice|
Pats WR unlikely to play Sunday, but should be back soon
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Fri Dec 11, 1:15 pm
|Doug Kyed on Twitter: "Breaking: Julian Edelman (foot) has RETURNED to practice. Patriots have perfect attendance today." (Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: It's good news for fantasy owners that Edelman made an appearance on Friday, but it's highly unlikely he'll play this week against Houston. He could be worth a stash for owners with championships that extend until Week 17. For now, Danny Amendola (questionable, knee) should receive the Edelman complement of targets.
| Danny Amendola expected to play|
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Dec 6, 7:20 am
|Patriots WR Danny Amendola (questionable, knee sprain) is expected to play today vs. Eagles, source said. He missed last week. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Amendola was limited in practice this week but should be ready to go for the late-afternoon kickoff. There's some concern he won't be 100 percent but he's a safe enough option to be considered a WR2 in Week 13.
| Gronk out, Amendola likely in|
Pats likely to get one offensive weapon back this week
By: John Canario | Fri Dec 4, 5:20 pm
|Rob Gronkowski will miss this week's New England Patriots game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, as expected. The All Pro tight end has been ruled out for Week 13 with a knee injury. As NFL Media's Albert Breer points out, it's not a good sign for the next week's availability when the Patriots rule out a player on Friday. With Julian Edelman (foot) also sidelined, Tom Brady would benefit from Danny Amendola's return to the lineup. Amendola is expected to suit up, barring a setback. (NFL.com)|
FFToday's Take: Last Friday, it looked as though Amendola would suit for the Pats' tilt with the Broncos but he was later ruled out. Amendola owners will want to monitor his status leading up to the 4:25 pm ET kickoff.
| Danny Amendola won't play Sunday night|
Pats thin at wide receiver
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 28, 3:00 pm
|New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will not play against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night because of a knee injury, according to multiple reports. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: While the Patriots haven't made anything official, multiple reports suggest Amendola did not travel with the team to Denver. His loss will be a big blow to an already depleted receiving corps. Brandon LaFell and Chris Harper are the healthiest receivers of the group. Keshawn Martin (hamstring) is listed as Questionable.
| Danny Amendola expected to play |
WR listed as questionable
By: John Canario | Fri Nov 27, 4:45 pm
|New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola practiced on Friday, according to the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe. Amendola also got in a limited session on Thursday, indicating that the Patriots are preparing to suit him up for the Week 12 matchup with the Denver Broncos. The Patriots' slot receiver was featured heavily in the offense before exiting Week 11's victory over the Bills with a sprained knee. However, it appears that Amendola is not in danger of being kept out of action on Sunday. (SB Nation)|
FFToday's Take: Amendola is a must-start this weekend as Tom Brady's second-best receiving option after Rob Gronkowski. The diminutive receiver is in line for his third straight week with more than 10 targets.
| Edelman to have surgery on Monday|
Broken bone in foot
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 15, 9:52 pm
|Julian Edelman will undergo surgery Monday for a broken bone in his foot, per source. There is hope he will return this season, per sources. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: It's been reported that Edelman broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot which is a similar injury that Dez Bryant suffered earlier this season. Bryant missed 7 weeks. In all likelihood, Edeleman's regular season is over. Danny Amendola should see increased work and should be a high waiver wire priority in Week 11.
