| Adrian Peterson doubtful -- Sat Dec 28 7:00 am --|
Not expected to play
|Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has listed the reigning league MVP as doubtful for Sunday’s season finale against the Lions in what will be the final game in the 31-year history of the Metrodome.
Asked if there’s any way Adrian Peterson could talk him into letting him play at the last minute on Sunday morning, Frazier said, “No, unless something dramatically changes.” (Minneapolis Star Tribune)|
FF Today's Take: Peterson (groin, foot)) was limited in practice on Thursday and is unlikely to play. Toby Gerhart (hamstring) will also sit this game out leaving Matt Asiata and Joe Banyard to handle rushing duties. Neither is worthy of your fantasy lineup.

Matt Asiata expected to start

FF Today's Take: Matt Asiata expected to start at running back for the Vikings. He'll be a desperation play for fantasy owners who should go with a pass-first approach against the Eagles.
| Peterson, Gerhart remain questionable -- Sat Dec 14 3:00 pm --|
Starting running back for Vikings unknown
|Adrian Peterson, who missed nearly three quarters of last week’s game in Baltimore because of what appeared to be a serious sprain to his right foot, impressed coach Leslie Frazier enough during Friday’s practice to be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Eagles at Mall of America Field. Toby Gerhart also practiced Friday for the first time all week. But he held back some to protect the hamstring until game day. (Minneaoplis Star Tribune)|
FF Today's Take: Both running backs practiced on a limited basis Friday and both will be gametime decisions. Both players will be at less than 100% if they suit up on Sunday. Check back tomorrow morning for an update on the Vikings running situation.
| Gerhart, Peterson miss practice Thu. -- Thu Dec 12 8:00 pm --|
Vikings starting RB remains uncertain
|Adrian Peterson (foot) and Toby Gerhart (hamstring) missed a second day of practice Thursday.
Coach Leslie Frazier said he hopes both will be able to do some work Friday. Peterson, who suffered a foot sprain, only has done pool rehab this week. (Star Tribune)|
FF Today's Take: Peterson and Gerhart weren't expected to practice until Friday and speculation is that Peterson will likely miss this week's game. Matt Asiata may get the call if both sit in Week 15.
| Peterson, Gerhart miss practice Wed. -- Wed Dec 11 8:15 am --|
Neither will practice until Friday at earliest
|Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said injured running backs Adrian Peterson (foot sprain) and Toby Gerhart (hamstring) will not practice today and probably won't practice until Friday, if at all. He also said he's more hopeful that Gerhart will be able to practice on Friday than Peterson. (Star Tribune)|
FF Today's Take: We all know that Peterson is a freak of nature when it comes to his body and healing time but it sounds unlikely that he will be available this week. For his part, Peterson says he'll be ready to play.
| Adrian Peterson in walking boot -- Tue Dec 10 12:30 pm --|
Won't need surgery on foot
|Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will not require surgery on his sprained right foot although he will remain in a walking boot this week, leaving in doubt his status for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Metrodome, a team official confirmed Tuesday. (Pioneer Press)|
FF Today's Take: An MRI showed no fractures found in Peterson foot and Peterson says he want's to play. That remains to be seen. Backup Toby Gerhart suffered a hamstring strain last week and he'll likely be limited in practice this week. Matt Asiata is the "break glass in case of emergency" running back.
