|The Eagles fifth-round pick in the 2010 draft, Cooper has increased his target count and receptions each year he has been in the league. Unfortunately, the big-play potential that he displayed in 2010 and 2011 seemed to disappear last season as his 23 receptions only resulted in 248 yards. Cooper has a bigger fantasy upside now that Jeremy Maclin (ACL) has been lost for the season. For now, the Eagles have decided to address this issue in house and that means Cooper will likely get first opportunity to fill Maclin's void and crack the starting lineup. We're not sold yet on Cooper being anything more than a fantasy WR4 at this point but stay tuned.
Comment: Cooper will get his chance to replace Maclin in the starting lineup.

Save over $3 million against the cap
|The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran wide receiver Jason Avant. Avant, 30, has spent his entire eight-year career with Philadelphia and developed into a reliable receiver for the Eagles. The 6-foot Avant had 38 catches for 447 yards and two touchdowns last season. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: The Eagles have re-signed Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin this off-season and this move saves over $3 million against the cap in 2014. Avant will look to sign with a team that needs a veteran leader in the receiving corps. His fantasy value is hovering in WR5 territory at best.

Free agent WR staying in Philadelphia
|The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have agreed to terms with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin on a one-year contract.
"Jeremy is an ideal player for our scheme with his combination of size, speed, strength and route-running ability, in addition to his dynamic playmaking talent," said Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. "We're happy to see him rehabbing well and to get him under contract for the 2014 season." (PhiladelphiaEagles.com)|
FF Today's Take: Maclin missed all of 2013 after tearing his ACL in training camp but is expected to be ready for training camp. He will battle Riley Cooper for targets and the starting receiver spot opposite DeSean Jackson. Both Maclin and Cooper will have a negative effect on each other's fantasy value unless one of them gains the upper hand in Chip Keely's offense. Low-end WR3 value for each as the off-season continues.

Five years, $25 million
|A day after locking up left tackle Jason Peters, the Eagles signed two more of their own players when they reached a new deal with free agent wide receiver Riley Cooper and extended the contract of center Jason Kelce on Thursday.
Cooper’s deal is for five years and is reportedly worth $25 million. Guarantees are not known at this time. (The Intelligencer)|
FF Today's Take: It's been reported that Cooper will receive $10 million guaranteed. Cooper was a deep ball threat last season, averaging 17.8 yards per catch and finished as the No.24 fantasy wideout. He currently sits as the Eagles No.2 wideout but contract negotiations are ongoing with Jeremy Maclin.
