2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
Despite Blake Bortles’ ability to keep the team in games through the air last season, HC Gus Bradley knows a strong ground game is needed to have sustained success over the duration of a full NFL season. Establishing stronger depth at the running back position was an obvious area for upgrade this off season and the team responded by inking the 28 year-old former Jet and Saint Chris Ivory to a multi-year deal that covers what should be Ivory’s prime years. The team was pleased with T.J. Yeldon’s production in 2015 so the size of Ivory’s role within the offense remains uncertain at the moment. His physical style provides more of a threat in short yardage and red zone packages. Those figuring on Ivory taking over as the predominant starter for touches may want to pull the reigns a bit. Until 2015, Ivory had never eclipsed the 200-carry mark. Additionally, over the final seven weeks of last year’s regular season, Ivory only scored one touchdown while seeing over 15 touches just twice. If given the chance to ride the hot hand, Ivory will probably post a few big games but his overall value will be tied to whether he can consistently find the end zone.

News From The Past 90 Days
Injury Chris Ivory, Hurns out, Julius Thomas doubtful
Jaguars down multiple offensive pieces
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 2, 1:00 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
The team ruled out several key players for Sunday’s game against visiting Denver: receiver Allen Hurns, running back Chris Ivory, defensive end Jared Odrick and receiver Rashad Greene. Tight end Julius Thomas (back) is considered doubtful. (Florida Times Union)

FFToday's Take: Hurns and Ivory are both dealing with hamstring injuries. Expect T.J. Yeldon (ankle) to play but he's likely to share reps with Denard Robinson. With Hurns and Thomas out, Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee should see the bulk of targets against the Broncos. Neither are recommended fantasy plays given the competition.

Injury Chris Ivory unlikely to play Week 13
Hamstring injury

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) did not practice for 2nd straight day. He's unlikely to play vs Broncos. (Mark Long on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ivory has yet to practice since suffering the injury, so owners can figure to see plenty of T.J. Yeldon (ankle) if he continues to make progress. With that said, the smarter move is to bench all Jaguars this week, as the Denver defense should smother Jacksonville and its mistake-prone offense.

Injury Julius Thomas out, Yeldon questionable
Jaguars down two at tight end
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 25, 11:45 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars already knew they’d be without tight end Marcedes Lewis for Sunday’s game at Buffalo. Now, they’re without Julius Thomas as well. The Jaguars (2-8) announced the two-time Pro-Bowl tight end will miss Sunday’s game with the Bills (5-5) because of a back injury. (Florida Times Union)

FFToday's Take: With Thomas and Lewis out, the Jaguars are down to Ben Koyack at the tight end position. He won't be a recommended fantasy option against the Bills. Yeldon is battling a sprained ankle and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. If Yeldon, sits Denard Robinson would see increased playing time but Chris Ivory would remain the lead back.

Injury Chris Ivory ruled out for Week 2
Yeldon expected to start
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 16, 11:14 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
Running back Chris Ivory also did not practice Friday and will miss his second consecutive game. Ivory was hospitalized with what the team calls a “general medical condition” several hours prior to the Packers game. Ivory was back at EverBank Field on Thursday and could return against Baltimore on Sept. 25. (Flordia Times Union)

FFToday's Take: With Ivory out, T.J. Yeldon should once again see the majority of snaps at running back for Jacksonville. Yeldon saw 25 touches in Week 1 but was terribly inefficient in the run game (1.9 ypc). Yeldon is a solid RB2 against the Chargers who got torched by the Chiefs' running backs in Week 1.

Injury Chris Ivory still hospitalized, undergoing tests
Jags RB status still developing
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 13, 3:43 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
Adam Schefter (AAdamSchefter) on Twitter: "Jaguars' RB Chris Ivory remains hospitalized with what team is calling a "general medical issue." Team expects to know more in next 48 hours" (Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This isn't great -- and he's still undergoing tests this afternoon. Hopefully Ivory is good to go and this isn't a serious health issue -- just a temporary football problem. For now, it means that T.J. Yeldon could pick up extra work and vault into RB1 territory for Week 2.

Injury RB Chris Ivory inactive
Illness

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars inactives: Chris Ivory, Allen, Johnson, Reed, Walters, Alualu and C. Smith. ... House starts at LCB. (Ryan O\'Halloran on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ivory was dealing with a calf injury but is reportedly missing this game with an illness. T.J. Yeldon gets a slight value bump with Ivory out and should see the majority of the work in the Jags backfield against the Packers.

Injury Ivory Questionable, expected to play
Calf injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 9, 11:36 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
Running back Chris Ivory, who has a calf injury, and defensive end Jared Odrick, who went into the concussion protocol after getting hit in the jaw earlier this week, have both been listed as questionable. Coach Gus Bradley suggested both players could have been listed as probable last year, however. Bradley added that Ivory’s calf issue is unlikely to alter the rotation in the backfield with T.J. Yeldon against the Packers. (ProFootballTalk)

FFToday's Take: Fantasy owners need to get used to the new rules regarding the injury report. The "Probable" designation has been kicked to the curb. Many "Questionable" players will likely suit up on Sunday's. Ivory should be splitting work with Yeldon in Week 1.
