| Chris Ivory was brought in to be the answer to Jacksonville's rushing attack but durability issues and ineffectiveness led to his lowest total touches since injuries limited him to six games in 2013. Jacksonville gave him the rock at least 15 times in only two of his eleven games played in 2016 and the addition of Leonard Fournette is telling of the team's confidence in Ivory moving forward. Ivory gets the job done when healthy so there is a chance he starts the year splitting carries with Fournette. However, it is more likely that Ivory serves as a caddie to Fournette and sees his touches per game dwindle into single digit territory. Unless an injury or off-the-field issue with Fournette occurs, Ivory is probably not worth owning in all but the deepest leagues.

$3.6 million saved against the salary cap

|The Jaguars are done with Chris Ivory.
The team on Friday released the veteran running back after two up-and-down seasons in Jacksonville, saving the team $3.6 million in salary-cap room, per OverTheCap.com. (NFL.com)|
FFToday's Take: While Ivory worked as the backup running back behind Leonard Fournette, he fell out of favor toward the end of last season as T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant became preferred options. Ivory saw 17 carries in Week 15 but registered just one carry the remaining of the regular season and through the playoffs. Ivory will turn 30 on March 22nd.
| Leonard Fournette practicing Wednesday|
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Dec 20, 11:06 am
|The Jaguars didn’t need running back Leonard Fournette in the lineup to rout the Texans last weekend, but they’d prefer the rookie be healthy enough to play even if they have other ways to beat their opponents.
Fournette appears to be on track to get to that point. Fournette’s not on the list of players set to sit out of practice on Wednesday after he missed all of last week’s work with the quad injury that also kept him out of the lineup against Houston
FFToday's Take: This is good news for the Jags, but doubt still remains for Leonard Fournette owners. Jacksonville's primary concern is getting ready for a playoff run and that may lead to a more cautious approach with their rookie running back down the stretch. Chris Ivory rushed for 42 yards on 17 carries in Week 15 and should continue to have a role in the rushing game even if Fournette returns to the lineup in this weekend's road matchup with the 49ers.

Chris Ivory, T.J. Yeldon in play for Week 15
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 16, 8:00 pm
|Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette will not play against Houston on Sunday, a league source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Fournette did not practice all week because of a quad injury. He also is still dealing with an ankle injury. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Fournette missed practice all week, so it's not much of a surprise that he will miss Week 15. In his absence, Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon will handle the backfield duties against the Texans. There's no clear indication on who the lead back will be but Ivory will likely get the first crack to make an impact.
| Fournette missed practice Friday|
Didn't practice all week with quad injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 15, 11:40 am
|Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette missed his third straight day of practice today due to his quad injury. No practice all week. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Fournette missed practice all week making him a true question mark for Sunday's game against the Texans. The Jaguars may take a cautionary approach thinking they can beat Houston with T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory at running back. We should get more updates on Fournette's status over the weekend.
