2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
For a player who has notched YPC of 4.9, 4.3 and 4.6 over the past three years, Mark Ingram has yet to be the fantasy beast he resembles. The Saints tried to limit the pounding he took last season by giving him more than 15 carries only five times (out of twelve games played). To offset those touches, Sean Payton utilized his top runner more in the passing game to a resounding success. Ingram’s prowess as a pass catcher saw his reception total hit 50 without playing a full season. The talent and opportunity to produce RB1 numbers is undeniable, however his health woes cannot be overlooked. He’s missed at least three games in all but one of his five years as a pro and went over the 100-yard rushing threshold only once in 2015. Nonetheless, even risk-averse owners may want to take a chance on the enormous upside. Ingram is now entering his prime and rates as a top ten fantasy running back when healthy in all formats. He has virtually no competition to take over his starting job and plays in an offense that loves to rush the ball inside the red zone. His injury history will push him down draft boards and smart Ingram investors will add roster protection through the use of a handcuff or complementary depth at the position.

Falcons to continue RB timeshare
Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will continue to split carries
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 13, 3:50 pm

Atlanta Falcons
Devonta Freeman, the starter, played 36 of 65 offensive snaps while Tevin Coleman played 32. Coleman accumulated 117 total yards on his 13 touches, while Freeman had 40 yards on his 15. The Falcons hope to fix those run-game woes this week against the Oakland Raiders. Last week, the Raiders gave up 88 rushing yards on 22 attempts to Mark Ingram and the New Orleans Saints. The Raiders were 13th in the league against the run last season, surrendering 104.9 rushing yards per game. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: "We know both these guys are going to be a factor,'' Quinn said. ``We just had two running backs active [Sunday], so for the whole portion of the game, both of them have done significant things really well. We’re going to utilize them both. Looks like owners will have to get used to the fact that neither will assume a Lamar Miller-type of workhorse role going forward.

Ingram could flirt with 250 carries
Saints RB discussion
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Jul 17, 7:00 am

New Orleans
An interesting subplot for the season is how many carries Mark Ingram will receive. He finished with 226 carries over 13 games in 2014 and was on pace for 220 last season before suffering an injury that limited him to 12 games. If the defense improves, it's possible Ingram could flirt with 250 carries. If he adds another 50 catches out of the backfield, as he did last season, he could set career marks in touches. (New Orleans Adocate)

FFToday's Take: Beat writer Nick Underhill also suggested that Ingram could lose some touches to C.J. Spiller, if Spiller rebounds from his knee injury. However, Tim Hightower appears be the RB of choice for Ingram owners looking for a handcuff. Hightower took over lead back duties the last four weeks of 2015 averaging 82 rushing yards, 32 receiving yards and 1 TD per game.
