Lance Dunbar's role in the Cowboys offense
Would likely split time if Murray goes down with an injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Jul 13, 11:00 am

Dallas Cowboys
He'll have the third-down back role. He has the ability to be a change of pace runner for DeMarco Murray. But does this mean he will see a huge role? Not necessarily because I think Murray will still be on the field for the bulk of the game. And if something happens to Murray, I think they would keep Lance Dunbar in the third down role, expand it a little, but use Joseph Randle or Ryan Williams, whoever wins the third back job, as the every-down back. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: The opinions of ESPN's Todd Archer who covers the cowboys are worth noting. Dunbar appears to be healed from his knee injury that occurred last November but it appears Murray will be getting the bulk of attention in this offense as long as he remains healthy. Dunbar will likely have more value in PPR leagues.

Cowboys add RB Ryan Williams
Former Cardinals' RB was released Monday
By: Mike Krueger | Sat May 17, 8:00 pm

Dallas Cowboys
Ryan Williams wasn’t out of work for long. The former Arizona running back has agreed to terms with the Cowboys after being cut by the Cardinals last Monday. Williams went through a workout Saturday that Dallas head coach Jason Garrett called “impressive.” (Dallas Morning News)

FFToday's Take: Williams has battled injuries for most of his young three-year career, appearing only in five games. He adds depth to the Cowboys running back position and will battle for snaps with Lance Dunbar and Joseph Randle.

Cardinals cut ties with RB Ryan Williams
Inactive for all 16 games last season
By: Mike Krueger | Mon May 12, 3:58 pm

Arizona Cardinals
Running back Ryan Williams is no longer in Cardinals coach Bruce Arians' doghouse. That's because Williams was one of four players released on Monday, the team announced. Williams, a second-round pick in 2011, was by the most notable of the three. His three years with the Cardinals were filled with injuries. He missed his rookie season with a torn right patella tendon. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury five games into his second season. (AZCentral)

FFToday's Take: Williams injured his knee in training camp last season and never made it back on the field. He's now eligible to be claimed on waivers by any team.
