2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
The oft-injured Vereen has been a disappointing, yet consistent member of the Giants since joining the team in 2015. The former Patriot averaged 6.2 fantasy points per game in each of his two years with the G-men, with 2016 being an injury-shortened campaign in which he managed to play in just five games. He is the clear third-down back and passing option for Manning out of the backfield, with a defined role that makes him much more valuable in PPR formats than standard leagues. With no more than four touchdowns in any of his six NFL seasons, including his best year as a pro in 2013, Vereen is a fringe play for PPR owners in deep leagues.

Injury Perkins, Shephard out for the Giants
Avoid Giants if possible
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 13, 9:22 am

New York Giants
OUT for Giants on Sunday: Jonathan Casillas, Olivier Vernon, WR Sterling Shepard, DE Romeo Okwara, TB Paul Perkins, C Weston Richburg. Ouch! (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Both were expected to miss Week 6 so this isn't much of a surprise. The Giants running backs against the Broncos will be Orleans Darkwa, Shane Vereen and rookie Wayne Gallman. The Broncos have been best against the run so far in 2017 with no rushing TDs allowed. Vereen should be considered as a desperation PPR play.

Injury Giants missing two RBs at practice
Darkwa and Vereen sit for second day in a row
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 28, 11:45 am

New York Giants
Giants not practicing: Olivier Vernon, Orleans Darkwa, Shane Vereen, Jonathan Casillas, Brett Jones, J.T. Thomas (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: If Darkwa and Vereen both miss Week 4, we could see a lot of Paul Perkins and perhaps a little of rookie Wayne Gallman. That being said, the Giants running game has been woeful to start the season making Perkins nothing more than a Flex consideration against the Bucs.

Changes coming to Giants offense
More snaps for Orleans Darkwa?
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 20, 8:00 am

New York Giants
Changes are a coming. This week, they might be more noticeable than a few more snaps for running back Orleans Darkwa or a slightly altered game plan. "Yeah, we can't keep doing the same thing over and over again," coach Ben McAdoo said on his Tuesday conference call. "That's insanity. It's not working. So we are going to look to make some changes this week, like we did last week. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: The Giants offense has been anemic the first two weeks. Look for Shane Vereen and Orleans Darkwa to be more involved at the running back position but its hard to trust any Giants player, including Odell Beckham Jr. given the inefficiency they've shown early in 2017.
