2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
One of the most underrated fantasy football quarterbacks since taking the starting job in Buffalo back in 2015, Tyrod Taylor has quietly posted two consecutive seasons with at least 3000 passing and 500 rushing yards.

His 20.9 points per game average last year was better than Russell Wilson and just .10 of a point less than Derek Carr, two quarterbacks who have typically been drafted well ahead of Taylor in fantasy drafts this year.

Although Taylor managed to throw only 17 touchdowns last season, his 508 rushing yards and career-high six rushing touchdowns more than made up for his deficiency throwing TDs. With a healthy Sammy Watkins and the addition of second round rookie Zay Jones, Taylor has arguably his best-receiving duo since joining the team in 2015.

With a QB rank outside the top 12, Taylor will likely be used initially as a streaming quarterback in most 12 and ten team leagues, with Week 4 at the Falcons and home games against the Jets, Saints, Raiders, and Colts as possible lucrative matchups to exploit. But don't count out Taylor as a possible full time starting option, especially if he and Sammy Watkins can recreate the chemistry that made them a force in 2015. Taylor is an ideal target for those fantasy owners employing a late-round QB approach to their draft.

Bills QB Tyrod Taylor benched
Nathan Peterman to start vs. Chargers
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Nov 15, 10:30 am

Buffalo Bills
In a surprise decision Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills benched Tyrod Taylor in favor of a rookie quarterback. Bills coach Sean McDermott told reporters that Nathan Peterman will start against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. "This is about becoming a better team. Tyrod has made improvements," McDermott explained to reporters. "This is not an indictment on Tyrod. He is an important part of our team and will continue to be an important part of our team. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: Buffalo's decision appears to be less about the team's recent losses and more about the future of the franchise. Unless an injury were to occur, Tyrod Taylor isn't likely to see the field again in 2017 and can be safely dropped. Nathan Peterman enters a tough situation to be find immediate fantasy success. The team is facing one of the better pass defenses in the league on the road this week making all Bills players risky fantasy plays for Week 11.

Injury Zay Jones out, Clay expected to play
Bills TE hasn't played since Week 5
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 10, 11:30 am

Buffalo Bills
Left tackle Cordy Glenn and wide receiver Zay Jones have been ruled out for the game because of injuries. Jones hurt his knee against the Jets and the rookie’s absence will open up more room for Kelvin Benjamin in the offense as Benjamin makes his Bills debut after last week’s trade with the Panthers. Tight end Charles Clay is questionable, although the signs have been positive about his return from a knee injury. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: The Bills should have their tight end back but will be missing WR Zay Jones. Benjamin and Jordan Matthews should be the main targets on the outside for Tyrod Taylor. Clay is a viable tight end streamer for those desperate for a warm body at the position.

Injury Jordan Matthews expected to play
Broken thumb

Buffalo Bills
Bills WR Jordan Matthews (broken thumb) is expected to play today with a special glove vs. #Bucs, sources say. 2 wks earlier then expected. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Matthews broke his thumb in Week 4 so it's a bit of a surprise he has returned this early. He does give Tyrod Taylor some much needed help in a depleted receiving corps but Matthews has been nothing more than a WR5, having caught no more than 3 balls in any game this season.

Injury Jordan Matthews out at least a month
Thumb surgery

FFToday's Take: The loss of Matthews depletes an already weak receiving corps. Zay Jones and Andre Holmes appear to be Tyrod Taylor's top targets on the outside, but it may TE Charles Clay who sees an increase in target share.

Injury Tyrod Taylor still in concussion protocol
Bills without a healthy QB heading into season
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 29, 11:05 am

Buffalo Bills
Both Bills QBs Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates remain in the concussion protocol Tuesday. Bills coach Sean McDermott said he anticipates Nathan Peterman and Keith Wenning splitting time Thursday night against Detroit. McDermott said Tuesday he will "monitor" Taylor and Yates' situations as far as how much they will play Peterman and risk injury to their potential Week 1 starter. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Yikes. Things aren't off to a great start for the Bills in 2017. Anquan Boldin retired after a few days in Bills camp, and the team will need some veteran presence to help along rookie WR Zay Jones and get the passing offense going.
