2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
They say the most important ability is availability, and unfortunately for fantasy owners, Jeffery wasnít available much in 2015. After back-to-back monster WR1 seasons in 2013 and 2014, Jeffery simply couldnít get on the field to give enough return on investment. A calf injury cost him five games early in the year, and more soft tissue injuries to his lower body cost him a few games down the stretch. All told, Jeffery only suited up nine times last year, but when he was on the field, he dazzled as expected. In six of the nine games he topped 10 targets, and racked up 85-plus yards and/or a score in seven of nine. His fantasy and on-field impact canít be disputed, but the Bears failed to come to a long term deal with Jeffery, causing him to play out the 2016 season on the franchise tag. The 27 year-old possesses elite ball skills, speed, and Beckham like hands, and is a WR1 whenever he takes the field. His 11.6 points per game was 14th amongst receivers last year, and he should only benefit from the return of Kevin White. Jeffery is the classic boom/bust pick, but his recent production should outweigh any injury concerns. Heck, he played two full seasons prior to last year, and heís playing for a monster contract so motivation wonít be an issue. Heís currently being selected as the 10th receiver off the board in early drafts, but possesses more upside than many of the players being selected before or around him.

Eagles land Alshon Jeffery, one-year deal
One-year, $14 million

Philadelphia Eagles
WR Alshon Jeffery is a 1-year deal for $14M to #Eagles. (Josina Anderson)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery reportedly had interest from the Vikings, Bears, and Colts but ultimately chose Philadelphia. He'll join Torrey Smith as new additions to the Eagles receiving corps. Jeffery has battled injury and suspension the last two years missing a total of 11 games during that span. He'll be a risky WR2 in redraft leagues on a team that likes to spread the ball to its running backs and tight ends in the passing game.

Bears unlikely to tag Alshon Jeffery
Jeffery sits atop free agent WR class
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Feb 28, 8:00 am

Chicgao Bears
Bears are not expected to franchise Alshon Jeffery again at > $17M, sources say. A top WR on the market will generate lots of buzz in Indy (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery received the franchise tag last season but it appears the Bears are in a total rebuild mode and will let Jeffery test the free agent waters. He hasn't played a full season since 2014 and his 52-804-2 line ranked 36th among fantasy wide receivers in 2016. The Eagles and Colts reportedly have interest.

D-Jax a possibility for the Rams?
LA has about $40 M in cap space
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jan 23, 6:55 pm

The Rams enter the offseason with about $40 million in cap space and a desperate need -- once again -- to beef up at receiver. Alshon Jeffery is the major prize in free agency, and DeSean Jackson seems like a natural fit now that McVay, his former offensive coordinator with the Redskins, is with the Rams. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: With a clear need for a top receiver and so much cap space, the Rams will almost certainly land a top free-agent receiver, especially considering they don't have a first-round pick. Jackson is supposedly interested in a return to Philadelphia and getting older, while Jeffery hasn't shown much durability, so getting either one may be a mixed blessing. Kenny Britt is coming off his first 1,000-yard season, but LA would probably only want him back if he is agreeable to be a No. 2 receiver.
