|The Lions used a second-round pick on Oklahoma wide receiver Ryan Broyles in the 2012 draft even though he had torn his ACL in November of his final college season. While that looked like a questionable move, Broyles heated up in Week 7, catching 21 passes for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns over the next six games. Unfortunately, he suffered another torn ACL in Week 13, clouding his outlook for 2013. While offseason reports indicate that Broyles has had a solid recovery, there are no guarantees that he will be fully recovered by opening day, even if he is able to suit up. At 5'10” and 188 pounds, Broyles isn't a great option outside, but he figures to get plenty of targets in the league's most pass-oriented offense once he’s healthy. That gives him upside. If you're willing to wait for him to get healthy, Broyles is worth a late-round flier.
Comment: Coming off ACL injury in December, Broyles will have to prove he can stay healthy before fantasy owners should count on him for a significant contribution.
Nate Burleson eyes Week 10 return -- Mon Oct 28 3:25 pm --
Ryan Broyles lost for the season with Achilles' injury
Nate Burleson was running routes and catching passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford before Sunday's win against Dallas, and Burleson said recently that once he started catching passes it would mean he's close to returning. He said after the game that the Week 10 game in Chicago after this week's bye is still his target for a return. (The Detroit News)
FF Today's Take: Burleson is a trusted possession receiver for Stafford in Detroit's pass-heavy offense and proved as much once again before he broke his arm in a car accident on Sept. 24. Burleson is a low-upside WR3 in most formats, but should be resume his usual slot role in three-wide sets upon his return following Ryan Broyles' season-ending injury in Week 8. Kris Durham has filled in well as the second receiver, so it remains to be seen if Burleson reclaims that role as well.

FF Today's Take: Big loss for the Lions today. Ryan Broyles, Reggie Bush and Joique Bell should see increased targets in the passing game.
Burleson breaks arm in car crash -- Tue Sep 24 7:00 am --
Will have surgery today
Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson broke his arm in a single-car accident and will have surgery Tuesday, the team announced. Ken Sarnoff, Burleson's agent, told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder that his client broke his arm in two places. Sarnoff said the receiver had been watching "Monday Night Football" with teammates and crashed his SUV while driving home. (ESPN)
FF Today's Take: The timing couldn't be worse as Burleson is coming of his best game of the season (6 catches, 116 yards). Ryan Broyles will fill the slot role moving forward for the Lions and will be a popular waiver wire add in Week 4.
