2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
It was the tale of two halves for Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson last season. The young passer was supposed to see a significant upgrade in fantasy value, but few could have predicted what actually happened. Wilson’s perceived top target, new tight end Jimmy Graham, was a huge disappointment prior to suffering a season-ending injury. But Wilson thrived through the adversity, absolutely lighting up the fantasy scoreboard in the second half to the tune of 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Now coming off of his most impressive fantasy season, Wilson is finally being looked at as an elite fantasy option – and he should be. Wilson’s confidence as a passer was off the charts toward the end of 2015 and with Jimmy Graham back, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to continue to put up big time fantasy numbers. His rushing ability is elite but it appears the team or Wilson himself has decided that his long-term health needs to be taken more seriously. His 553 rushing yards in 2015 were still among the league’s best at the position, but are a far cry from the 849 yards and six scores he produced on the ground in 2014.

Replicating his 2015 season might be difficult, but Wilson’s rushing numbers give him a high floor, which is extremely valuable when coupled with his high ceiling. With Marshawn Lynch retired, Seattle will presumably look to Wilson to increase his passing workload in 2016, which gives him the opportunity to be a top-5 fantasy quarterback.

Injury Positve news on Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett
Lockett frustrated at snap count past two weeks
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Oct 12, 3:32 pm

Seattle Seahawks
Carroll said QB Russell Wilson “looks great and that’s a great thing for us.” Wilson has been hobbled by a sprained ankle and sprained MCL. But Carroll says Wilson looks the best he has since before suffering the high ankle sprain in week one. Carroll said WR Tyler Lockett, who has been limited in snaps the past two weeks after suffering a sprained knee against the Rams, “looks really good. Felt really good. He feels the best he’s felt (since being injured).” Carrol said Lockett has been “a little frustrated” at being limited in snaps the past two weeks and is hoping to get back to normal this week. (Seattle Times)

FFToday's Take: It's good to know Russell Wilson didn't hurt his knee any more while playing with an MCL injury. He was able to notch his first 300-yard passing game of the season last week against the Jets and is a low end QB1 heading into Week 6. Lockett appears to be nearing full health and should return to being a weekly flex option in deeper formats.

Injury Russell Wilson diagnosed with MCL sprain
Also dealing with high ankle sprain

Seattle Seahawks
Pete Carroll said Russell Wilson has an MCL sprain. Says Wilson "feels great" and is recovering well. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Of all the adjectives Carroll could have used to describe how Wilson is feeling at the moment, "great" seems among the most unlikely. Expect the fifth-year quarterback to be labeled questionable at best when the injury report comes out. Wilson's lower-body injuries have limited him to 33 yards rushing through three games, making him a fringe QB1 at best. Rookie UDFA Trevone Boykin would get the odd if Wilson cannot go and be a high-upside QB2 in Week 4 against the New York Jets.

Injury Russell Wilson practices, on track to start
Ankle
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Sep 14, 6:06 pm

Seattle Seahawks
RENTON, Wash. -- Russell Wilson participated in practice Wednesday and continues to be on track to start for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams. "His attitude is as charged-up as you can imagine, as always," coach Pete Carroll said. "But he's excited to prove that he can make it back, get back and all that. He's half-crazy about proving so it's good. His attitude's great." (ESPN.com)

FFToday's Take: This is great news for Russell Wilson's chances of playing in Week 2, albeit at less than full health. He had his ankle heavily wrapped but it didn't stop him from working with his receivers and getting through practice. If the Rams can't muster up much offense for a second straight week Wilson might not have to do too much in this contest.
