|As an undrafted free agent last year, Streater had a strong training camp, not only earning a spot on the Raiders roster but also getting targeted 10 times on opening day. Not bad. He finished the year with decent numbers (39 receptions for 584 yards and three touchdowns) and should earn a starting spot in 2013. Streater finished his rookie season strongly with 18 receptions for 351 yards and a touchdown over his final five games. While the Raiders figure to go deep less often in 2013, that could benefit Streater who, despite averaging 15.0 yards per reception, is more adept at running short and intermediate routes. Consider him a strong WR5 in 2013.
|Andre Holmes solidifying his role? -- Mon Dec 2 6:40 pm --|
Raiders WR enjoys career day in Thanksgiving Day loss
|Matt McGloin showed tremendous faith in a player with just five career catches entering Thursday’s game. Against the Cowboys, Andre Holmes had seven. For a whopping 136 yards. An injury to Denarius Moore and attention paid to Rod Streater set up this breakout game, where Holmes flashed tremendous potential.
Holmes could be a fixture on next year’s roster, a vital presence on a team with little receiving production beyond Moore and Streater. (CSN Bay Area)|
FF Today's Take: It's hard to make too much out of any pro receiver putting up a solid game against the Cowboys' porous defense, but 6-4 and 210-pound receivers who can produce are in short supply. McGloin gives the Raiders a chance to have two fantasy-worthy receivers, so Holmes merits consideration for a bench spot in both redraft and dynasty leagues.
| McFadden, Moore unlikely for Raiders -- Fri Nov 22 2:00 pm --|
Both miss practice on Friday
|Running back Darren McFadden was still working with the training staff Friday as the Raiders began practice, an indication he won't play against the Tennessee Titans. Also not practicing for the Raiders on Friday were wide receiver Denarius Moore (shoulder) and Tyvon Branch (ankle). (Inside Bay Area)|
FF Today's Take: It will be another week of Rashad Jennings at the running back spot and the loss of Moore, means Rod Streater will be the best option in the Raiders passing attack. Streater is a desperate play however against a Titans defense has given up the fewest fantasy points in the league to wide receivers.
