2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
After disappointing many fantasy owners with a lackluster 2015 season, Kelce finally fulfilled his potential in 2016 with an absolutely monster season which saw him finish as the league's top-scoring fantasy tight end - and by a fairly wide margin. While he only scored four touchdowns, Kelce's week-to-week reception and yardage totals were borderline WR1 numbers. He finished the regular season on an absurd pace, catching five or more passes in every game from Week 8 through Week 16, including a whopping six 100-plus-yard performances in those nine contests. While it's hard to imagine that he stays on a yardage tear, he was a bit unlucky in the red zone. An increase in touchdowns should be expected if he's targeted anywhere near as often as he was in 2016. While he is currently going as the No.2 tight end off the board in most fantasy drafts, a case could be made that Kelce should be ahead of even the great Rob Gronkowski, given Gronk's ever-so-frustrating injury history. Still, Kelce represents great value in drafts and could really be a difference maker on fantasy rosters again this season if the position remains as sparse as it has been as of late.

Injury Kelce limited in practice Thursday
Chiefs TE in concussion protocol
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 12, 1:30 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce will practice for Chiefs today on a limited basis. Good sign for his availability for Sunday against Steelers. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Kelce is working his way through the concussion protocol and appears to be trending in the right direction. He remains one of the few reliable players at weak fantasy position in 2017. The Steelers have allowed only 219 yards and 1 TD to the position through five games.

Injury Kelce in concussion protocol
Misses practice Wednesday
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Oct 11, 1:36 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Tight end Travis Kelce was one of the Chiefs players held out of their practice on Wednesday. Kelce suffered a concussion in last Sunday night's victory over the Texans and remains in the concussion protocol as they started work for their game against the Steelers this weekend. Coach Andy Reid said, via, Tom Martin of KCTV5, that Kelce "feels pretty good" although his ability to pass through the protocol will be the only determining factor in his ability to play this week. Safety Steven Terrell is also in the concussion protocol. Wide receiver Albert Wilson (knee), linebacker Justin Houson (calf) and guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (knee) were also on the sideline for practice. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: Travis Kelce is on his way to another solid fantasy year and currently sits behind Zach Ertz as the second best fantasy TE through five weeks of the season. If he is not able to pass the concussion protocol the Chiefs will use the tandem of Demetrius Travis and Ross Davis. Kelce would be a must start if cleared but his status may not be known until Friday or even Sunday so have a backup plan in place.
