2014 Outlook
Depth Chart
Training camp standout Christine Michael has been a hot name this offseason, particularly in dynasty leagues where he is being drafted as the perceived long-term ball-carrier for Seattle once Marshawn Lynch eventually slows down. Michael possesses a unique combination of size and strength, but still has the burst to break into the secondary when given a chance. His bruising running style has been compared to the likes of Adrian Peterson and of course his teammate, Lynch, which makes sense as to why the Seahawks used a second-round pick on him in 2013. While Michael is unlikely to see substantial enough carries on his own to warrant a weekly starting position on your fantasy roster, his situation makes him enticing as a RB5 or RB6 late in drafts, even in redraft leagues. If Lynch gets hurt at some point during the season, Michael could instantly become a top-10 fantasy back in this Seattle offense. That seems unlikely given that Lynch has only missed one game during his entire tenure in Seattle, but the tremendous number of carries that he has taken during that span doesn't necessarily bode well for long-term health.

Comment: Michael will need an injury from Marshawn Lynch in order to contribute on a regular basis but this kid has massive upside appeal in a run-first offense.

News From The Past 90 Days
Injury Christine Michael misses practice Tuesday
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Sep 2, 4:00 pm

Seattle Seahawks
Five players were again listed as not participating: TE Cooper Helfet (knee), RB Christine Michael (hamstring), G Lemuel Jeanpierre (neck), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (hamstring) and CB Tharold Simon (knee). (Seattle Times)

FFToday's Take: Michael is likely headed for the inactive list on Thursday against Green Bay. He missed Monday's practice as well with a hamstring injury. Robert Turbin is the current backup behind workhorse Marshawn Lynch.

Marshawn Lynch under investigation
Alleged assault and personal property damage
By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 11, 4:30 pm

Seattle Seahawks
Bellevue police officers are investigating Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch after receiving an “allegation of an assault and personal property damage” from a female victim at a Bellevue apartment, according to a news release from the department. According to police, the alleged incident was reported to have occurred early Sunday morning, but “no domestic violence or sexual assault was involved in the allegation.” Bellevue police have assigned the case to a detective and it is under investigation. (Seattle Times)

FFToday's Take: Lynch doesn't exactly have a spotless off-field record, so owners shouldn't dismiss this report until the authorities do the same. Likely in his final season with the Seahawks, any missed time by Lynch would result in a spike of playing time - and fantasy stock - for Christine Michael and Robert Turbin.

Lynch to end holdout, report to camp
Will not receive a new deal
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jul 31, 5:45 pm

Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch will end his holdout and will report to training camp shortly, league sources said. The holdout has lasted eight days so far. Lynch will not be receiving the new deal and added money he sought, but Seattle is expected to add some financial concessions to his contract, sources said. (ABC News)

FFToday's Take: Lynch is in the third year of a four-year, $30 million deal. With Christine Michael and, to a lesser extent Robert Turbin and Spencer Ware, in reserve, Lynch had virtually no leverage and may be coming around to the realization that the Seahawks will likely be moving on from him after this season.

Lynch expected to holdout of training camp
Seahwaks set to begin camp on Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jul 24, 7:10 pm

Seattle Seahawks
When the Seahawks begin training camp tomorrow, running back Marshawn Lynch is expected to be absent. That’s according to former Seahawk Michael Robinson, who is now a commentator on the NFL Network and said on-air moments ago that Lynch will hold out. “Marshawn Lynch just called me, we just talked,” Robinson said. “He said he will be holding out from training camp this year with the Seahawks.” (Seattle Times)

FFToday's Take: Lynch has two years left on his deal and is set to make $5 million this season and $5.5 million in 2015. He skipped OTAs but reported to minicamp in June. Given his reasonable salary and the depth of players behind him (Christine Michael & Robert Turbin), it's hard to imagine the Seahawks caving to his demands.
