2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
Now entering his third season as the signal caller in Oakland, Derek Carr has begun to establish himself as a leader in this offense and he has all the attributes of a franchise quarterback. Carr fell just 13 yards short of 4,000 yards off of just 350 completions, adding an impressive ratio of 32 touchdowns to only 13 interceptions. The improvements in the Oakland offense were some of the most dramatic of any team in 2015 and off-season workouts with star wide receiver Amari Cooper should help the two establish chemistry even earlier in the season. That duo, along with veteran Michael Crabtree, should once again be among the toughest combinations to stop for opposing defenses. Concerns with Carr’s fantasy value include the Raiders improved defense and the potential of a stronger running game, which could lead to fewer total pass attempts for the offense. Still, a more efficient passing game should lead to plenty of fantasy opportunities for Carr to again finish as a borderline QB1 by the end of the season.

Injury Derek Carr puts in full practice
Dislocated finger
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Nov 30, 7:45 pm

Oakland Raiders
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, three days after dislocating his right (passing) pinkie in two places on a mistimed snap from center Rodney Hudson. (ESPN.com)

FFToday's Take: Derek Carr will likely play the majority of this weekend's game out of the shotgun to minimize any potential contact on his injured pinkie finger. The injury makes Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree riskier fantasy options for Week 13. Not only will Jack Del Rio have more incentive to run the ball if Carr's accuracy is off but any hit to the hand may also force him out of the game.

Dislocated right pinkie finger on snap in Week 12
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 28, 8:00 pm

Oakland Raiders
Derek Carr to 95.7 on his Week 12 finger injury: "It's a little sore, but that's expected. But should be good. Just get some swelling down & we'll be all right." (Jimmy Durkin on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Carr looked as sharp as ever after missing only one series, so it as problematic as a dislocated digit on a quarterback's throwing hand sounds, owners shouldn't expect it to be much of an issue for him moving forward. Carr should be considered a rock-solid QB1 in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills.

Injury Chargers corner Jason Verrett to miss season
Partially torn ACL
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Oct 5, 5:28 pm

San Diego Chargers
Cornerback Jason Verrett is expected to miss the rest of the season with a partially torn ACL, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported via a source informed of the situation. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: The Chargers have already lost two impact players on offense (Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead) and now lose one on the defensive side of the ball. Prior to being shutdown, Jason Verrett was well on his way to another Pro Bowl this season even with the bum knee. San Diego has already been without fellow CB Brandon Flowers (concussion) so what used to be a relative strength is now looking like a giant hole as the team prepares to face Derek Carr and the Raiders Sunday.
