2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
After beginning the year on the PUP list, Charles Sims was never able to find his groove in 2014. The anticipation of a possible dual threat and playmaking receiver out of the backfield never materialized. Instead, Sims plodded to the tune of 2.8 YPC allowing Martin to recapture top billing in the backfield despite his own injury woes. With plenty to prove and the coaching staff still optimistic on his talents, Sims is likely to see his workload increase throughout the year. He also stands to benefit the most should Martin fail to deliver over the first month or two of the season and is in a favorable situation to become Winstonís safety net. Consequently, he has upside as a flex option in 12-team and deeper PPR formats regardless of Martinís role in the offense.

Doug Martin to be lead back for Bucs
Starting RB job is Martin's to lose
By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 3, 5:45 pm

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If the Bucs are going to run the ball, Doug Martin must lead the way. "Definitely a key for us," Bucs coach Lovie Smith said. "We talked about being able to establish the run. Doug will be the lead guy doing that, so it's very important that we open up some holes and let him do his thing." (Tampa Times)

FFToday's Take: Earlier this off-season many speculated that Charles Sims would be the main ball carrier in the Bucs offense. It appears that head coach Lovie Smith and offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter will give Martin first opportunity at the job. Martin's best season came in 2012 when he finished 3rd among fantasy running backs and posted a 319-1454-11 line. He hasn't cracked 500 yards rushing in a season since. He'll have RB2 upside in standard re-draft leagues, currently being drafted as a RB3 (RB32 overall).
