|The argument for Rogers is similar to that of Ryan Grant except he's even less proven. Rogers' career high in targets is 37 and he's never had more than 300 yards for a season. Unless he can secure the WR2 role before the end of the preseason, Rogers in undraftable in standard sized leagues.
| Jack Doyle could return in Week 8|
Sidelined since Week 2 with hip injury
By: Doug Orth | Thu Oct 25, 7:25 pm
|Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has a chance to get another one of his favorite targets back this week against the Oakland Raiders. For the first time in five weeks, Jack Doyle was back on the practice field Wednesday. Doyle, who suffered a hip injury in the first half of the Washington game in Week 2, was healthy enough to get out on the practice field and haul in passes from Luck. There is cautious optimism from the Indianapolis staff about the tight end’s return.
“I think there’s a chance that he’ll play,” Colts coach Frank Reich said. (The Indianapolis Star)|
FFToday's Take: Doyle was limited in practice on Thursday as well. In his absence, Eric Ebron has emerged as a force. With that said, Doyle is something of a security blanket for Luck and on par with T.Y. Hilton in terms of being his most trusted pass-catcher. His return would likely make Ebron more of a low-end TE1 and remove Chester Rogers from fantasy relevancy, but it would also add a high-upside option to a position in fantasy that desperately needs it.
| Hilton, Doyle, Mack all out for Week 5|
Colts missing three starters on offense
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Oct 3, 3:30 pm
|Colts Pro Bowl receiver T.Y. Hilton has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the New England Patriots because of a hamstring injury. Others who will not play Thursday also include running back Marlon Mack (hamstring), tight end Jack Doyle (hip), offensive lineman Denzelle Good (personal -- brother killed Tuesday), cornerback Quincy Wilson (concussion), defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway (calf) and cornerback Kenny Moore II (concussion). FFToday's Take: The Colts have one of the weakest skill position player groups in the league. On Thursday night, they'll be rolling out Ryan Grant and Chester Rogers as their starting wide receivers. Tight end Eric Ebron and running back Nyheim Hines should see quit a bit of work in the passing game.
