Stewart practices in full, probable for Sunday
Panthers' RB ready to roll

Running back Jonathan Stewart (ankle), defensive tackle Dwan Edwards (foot) and running back Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) were full participants in Friday’s practice and are probable for the game. (Charlotte Observer)
FFToday's Take: Stewart sprained his ankle last week and was limited on Thursday but is expected to start against Arizona in the NFC Championship game. Stewart leads all running backs in fantasy points during the playoffs thanks to his two-TD 106-yd effort against Seattle. He'll be an RB2 option behind David Johnson during championship week.

Kurt Coleman (foot), Ted Ginn (knee), Ryan Kalil (illness), Jonathan Stewart (foot) and Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) did not practice today. (Carolina Panthers on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Panthers are practicing in wet conditions today so it's likely they held out a number of players as a precaution. Stewart has missed the last two games with a foot injury and has an outside chance of playing this week against the Bucs. We'll have more updates on his status later in the week.

Cameron Artis-Payne in play

Rivera confirms that Jonathan Stewart won't play Sunday. (Bryan Strickland on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Cameron Artis-Payne is the Carolina running back to take a chance with if you're searching for help at the position. He's likely to share time and snaps with Fozzy Whittaker and Mike Tolbert but is the best bet among the three to get early-down work against the Falcons.

Panthers being cautious with injured RB
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Dec 22, 11:43 am
Charlotte Observer reporter Jonathan Jones on Twitter: "No Jonathan Stewart as the practice horn blows" -- which leads us to believe the Panthers are being cautious with their No. 1 RB. (Twitter)
FFToday's Take: He's not ready yet. Look for Cameron Artis-Payne to lead touches and Fozzy Whittaker and Mike Tolbert to help out in passing downs and at the goal line.

A situation to avoid in Week 15

Rivera expects committee approach with RBs vs. Giants w/ Jonathan Stewart out. Tolbert, Fozzy and Artis-Payne all should get carries. (Joe Person on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Fozzy Whittaker may get the "start" but it's going to be difficult to trust him as anything more than FLEX play in Week 15. Don't be surprised if Cam Newton takes on more of the rushing load with Stewart out.

No sign of Jonathan Stewart as media portion of practice ends. Greg Olsen and Charles Tillman are out here. A lot of vet days, per usual. (Max Henson on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Stewart injured his foot last week and may not see the practice field this week. Owners should monitor his progress throughout the week and have a Plan B in place. Rookie Cameron Artis-Payne and Fozzy Whittaker would likely form a committee if Stewart doesn't play.
Jonathan Stewart diagnosed with sprained foot
Panthers likely to sit him out as precaution
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Dec 15, 9:38 am
CharlotteObserver.com's Joe Person with another tweet on Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart: "Updating Panthers injuries: Jonathan Stewart has sprained foot. Status for this wk is unclear. Expect the team err on side of caution." (Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Person is just a wealth of information this morning. We concur that Carolina isn't likely to force the issue with Stewart, who they said would be handled with kid gloves down the stretch even before this latest injury. Both Fozzy Whittaker and Cameron Artis-Payne are worth picking up, with the edge for better fantasy production leaning toward the more experienced Whittaker.
