Stacy limited on Thursday -- Thu Nov 28 4:50 pm --
Not cleared for contact yet
RB Zac Stacy, LG Chris Williams, CB Trumaine Johnson all listed as limited in practice. None of the three did any contact work Thursday. (Jim Thomas on Twitter)
FF Today's Take: There is optimism Stacy will receive clearance in the next two days, which means he has better than a 50-50 chance to start against San Francisco in Week 13. The matchup isn't particularly appealing, but Stacy's workload since Sam Bradford was lost for the season has allowed him to assume low-end RB1 status. Benny Cunningham would draw the start if Stacy cannot go and should be expected to take on the same kind of workload.
No practice for Zac Stacy -- Wed Nov 27 3:00 pm --
Participated in walkthrough
Zac Stacy, Trumaine Johnson, Chris Williams (head injuries) listed as non-participants Wednesday. All three did a little work in walk thru. (Nick Wagoner)
FF Today's Take: Stacy is going through the leagues concussion protocol in hopes of being cleared for Sunday's game. We'll see how much he participates tomorrow and Friday. If Stacy isn't able to go, Benny Cunningham would likely get the start. Stay tuned...
Pead, Stacy in line to start Week 5? -- Thu Oct 3 3:30 pm --
Rams unsure of top option in backfield
Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy are the top candidates for the open spot although HC Jeff Fisher said he has not made a decision and that Daryl Richardson remains in the mix. Pead, in his second year, has just carried seven times this season. Stacy, a rookie from Vanderbilt, has carried just once. (AP)
FF Today's Take: Were it not for the Rams' upcoming matchup against the Jaguars and four teams on bye, the identity of St. Louis' starting running back may not be all that big of a deal. The common-sense approach (if the Rams plan on benching Richardson this week) would be to use Pead as the early-down back and Stacy as the physical complement. Undrafted free agent Benny Cunningham also should be on fantasy owners' radars.
RBBC coming in St. Louis? -- Wed Oct 2 2:00 pm --
Richardson may not start in Week 5
Rams coach Jeff Fisher was surprised Wednesday when he was informed that starting running back Daryl Richardson tweeted that he wasn't going to be handling those duties this week. "We haven't gone one direction or the other [on a starter] yet." "[Fisher] was saying it's going to be a competition," Richardson said. "I was just talking to one of my fans on there. I didn't mean nothing like that, though." (ESPN)
FF Today's Take: The Rams have run the ball only 27% of the time so far this season. Daryl Richardson, Benny Cunningham, Isaiah Pead or Zac Stacy have minimal fantasy value until a bigger commitment to running the ball is established.
